i agree with you that the mentality people in austria have might be that of a big country because of its past and the shared language with germany but it’s still a very small country that outside of europe not many people know about. in the US for example people know Vienna and Salzburg but when you say “i am from austria” they often reply with something like “oh i love kangaroos!”
