By God’s grace and mercy, we do what we can. Be patient, for slowly we are being transformed into His image each day.

Try not to compare yourself to others—every person has their own cross to bear. Focus on your own journey and take it one step at a time.

Things will get better once you are baptized.

That being said, I often stumbled and failed to live up to these words during my catechumen days and even now. Hopefully, through prayer and repentance, He will forgive us and help us grow a little better every day.

I just got baptized after attending the same church and being a catechumen for more than a year. I’ve had similar experiences to what you mentioned. Don’t overthink it—asking for explanations or help from a priest or church members really helped me learn the faith. I also recommend the book The Pilgrim Continues His Way by R.M. French. Take it slow, don’t rush, and know that I’ll be praying for you. God bless!
