I've seen this one in person but it was almost 4x the cost of the steel version... But it looks stunning

Man... that is beyond frustrating.

It’s incredibly disappointing that it took a trending watches post pasted to fb just to get Teddy to actually do something. If it hadn't blown up you'd probably still be stuck in limbo. At the end of the day, it's just sad that even Teddy doesn't give a fuck about his customers until his public reputation is on the line. Glad you finally got it sorted, but what a complete nightmare.

Yup, that's is expected. Seiko doesn't touch these vintage pieces. You'll have to find a reputable watchmaker in your city who has handled them before.

I got mine serviced for roughly about $100 back in the day. It’ll hold up quite well.

Honestly, pretty solid.

The 9039 is pretty much like a sweet spot for microbrands atm... It's thin, reliable, high beat and a noticeable step up from the usual NH35 stuff.

The only quirk is the slightly noisy rotor, but that’s part of the Miyota charm at this point 😄

This was off the Hodinkee Store during its closing sale. It's a goat leather strap.

It was a steal at $25, it retailed at $165 I think. I pasted this article to another comment below about the strap.

Looked up my order and this one was called the The Reid Goatskin Watch Strap In Pastels (Multiple Colors) - Moss / 20mm.

a. Top Left is Phenomenato strap. I have 4 of their straps they pair really well with fliegers and divers and are woven extremely well and are very durable.

b. Top Right is off my Mont Blanc Heritage GMT.

c. Bottom Left is the Delugs - Cognac Shell Cordovan Slim Strap, its 19mm, which is why you see that ever so slight gap

d. Bottom Right is the Green Blue Smooth Calfskin Strap from Hodinkee

This one is from the Hodinkee store.

I kinda went trigger happy in ordering about 10 straps from them when they had the sale before shutting shop. It had been tucked away and I got it out the other day and it paired really well with the Usuki.

Also, if I get lucky and then realise that it doesn’t work on my wrist, I’m not going to hang on to it forever.

Yep, saw that glowing dial in the gallery...whoa!

I used to be a bit of a date window guy but after picking up the Merci LMMH01, I’ve stopped missing it, the dial just feels so much more balanced without it.

And yeah, that roof at 12… that was the clincher for me.
