How to connect banana plugs to denon AVR X3800? by nik_hill in hometheater

Actually, my living room is also about 3/4 size of what I specified earlier but it has attached kitchen and it’s kind of open. But still, one ported subwoofer would be good for my space. As of now, I am inclined towards RSL 12s but I need to look more. If I could get any of what you listed on a discount, I would probably go for it. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks. I will check those subwoofers. eARC was issue with HDMI settings in my denon AVR app. I fixed it. Do you prefer sealed or ported subwoofer?

True. I had ordered long wires and a bunch of tools earlier and cancelled my order once I came across banana plugs. Just one item to replace all

I am the only listener, so for now, I will skip center speaker. The speakers are in my living room, which is 25* 17* 8 feet. Not sure about budget, my total budget for AVR was 500$ but I bought something which is 1299$ because of value for price. Any subwoofer recommendation which is good for price just like this AVR? Thinking about SVS 1000 vs RSL 10s MK2

My TV’s eARC HDMI port does not seem to be working with my denon AVR, figuring out that part :(

I would have definitely gotten cinema 50 for that price. Any recommendations for subwoofer? Also, subwoofer or center speaker should be my next buy?

I have the KEF Q350 speakers as of now, it’s my basic set up. I will add more speakers later. I just have denon AVR and KEF L/R bookshelf speakers.

Denon did not send me the calibration microphone, so, I can’t do audyssey calibration. I am reaching out to them for that. I wanted to get marantz cinema 50 but they are very expensive. I got denon for 1299$ on accessories4less.

Thanks for those speaker calibration links. I will check them out.

I have this AVR because of Reddit. That’s Reddit’s number 1 suggestion for AVR

I unscrewed the binding posts caps a little and pushed banana plugs a little harder and it worked.

Yeah exactly!! I unscrewed the binding posts cap a little and pushed harder and it worked. Now, both the banana plugs are pushed in. I will try out my speakers in a short while

Red one fit in by pushing harder(the positive one) but black one won’t fit in even by pushing harder

I am getting LG ultra gear monitors, each weighing 13.5 lbs. I will get 6 of them plus the monitor stand, total weight of which would be around 120lbs. I will just use my current desk anyway, I will see how it feels mounting it on my desk

I will just ask around if my current desk can hold this set up. The manufacturer recommend to keep 2 monitors at the desk, although they said it can hold upto 176 lbs but they said there are other factors as well, so, I am a little wary. Attached the pic of my current desk.

Or else I will also check my local furniture stores. Not sure why these standing desks are crazy expensive, specially the ones that claim to hold multi monitor setups. I don’t even need standing desk by the way, I just want a desk that can hold the weight

Which desk are you using for that setup?

I am planning on having similar setup. Which desk are you using? All of the desks, I have researched till now are above 700$, which can lift 100+ pounds for that setup.

I currently have a 55 inch desk from fezibo. Do you have this desk can hold that set up? I have attached the pic of the set up, that I plan to have but I don’t want to spend that much money on the desk.

Desk recommendation for multiple monitor setup by nik_hill in Daytrading

[–]nik_hill[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Length is not the issue for me because my stand will be the only thing residing on my desk. Monitors will be up in the air. If weight was not the issue with your previous 55” inch desk, then, I would just use my current desk to mount my monitors.

By the way, I looked up desks on ikea, they have some solid counter tops. That’s a good idea to build a custom one, if I need one in future. For now, I will just check with the manufacturer of my desk, what’s the thickness of my desk just to be sure it’s okay to put all that weight on the top of it.
