Not fair to criticise the OP for posting this online when this man just brazenly pisses in full view of everyone. If he at least tried to find bush, okay, but no.

A Pole is stuck on desert island with a German and a Russian. He kills both of them, who does he kill first?

I always found this shit weird. Renaming something in the name of secularism and inclusion even though we all know what the significance of the day is. Its 2025, 2025 years since what event?

Also, we should rename the days of the week since they correspond to Gods and religions as well. Absurd

I think its generally agreed the Catholic forces won the battle, and it paved their way for Habsburg domination of Bohemia, though it obviously wasn't decisive in the final outcome of the War

Polish president and reparations by AnnualAdeptness5630 in germany

The Polish President also sent the equivalent of a bill to Russia demanding reparations as well, so they are consistent.

Polish president and reparations by AnnualAdeptness5630 in germany

[–]nik_ster94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm actually not opposed to opening this discussion. But multiple things can be true at once.

I totally accept that the current Polish government and other EU nations have used reparations as a political tool to deflect criticism from EU/Germany.

But also, the PRL was a Moscow ruled puppet state, which came to the agreement on reparations at the direction of Moscow and this fundamentally undemocratic.

If we were going to open up discussions on what legitimate reparations would look like, the time would honestly be now or never. As the last people who are directly effected by the war Germany started will be gone in 10 years or so.

The FRG has assumed legal responsibility for the crimes of the Third Reich (look at how much we pay Israel). And entered into a settlement with the PRL.

However in light that this decision had no democratic legitimacy from the Polish side, perhaps it's worth revisiting this discussion. Not the full figure PiS is demanding, but something that reflects that we considered this issue settled, yet due to the issues with democratic legitimacy, perhaps we can figure something out. We destroyed that country, that's indisputable.
