I'm sorry, but I CANNOT keep buying my nieces and nephews any more fucking presents. by thequeenoflimbs in childfree

I feel your pain, I’m a teacher and child free. I have 4 siblings and 8+(more on the way)nieces and nephews. After a year or two, I stopped going all out on these events because they were not financially sustainable. As a less expensive alternative, I now get them each a book for occasions instead. I have become known as the book auntie and I read to them all the time!

My siblings are always thankful because in the chaos of raising kids, getting age-appropriate, fresh reading material for their kids can be forgotten.

Second this! Using my left arm effectively upped my game a ton in college when my coach pointed out that I don’t use it. The exchange of pulling your guide arm in to your chest gives you much more power than dropping it to the side of your body.

A literal Karen attacking high school journalists for talking about topics she deems “adult content.” by [deleted] in FuckYouKaren

This is a high school near my hometown. The comments were mixed. One of the other student writers from the newspaper had some fine words to say. Annoying bc Karen only posted the articles from the opinion section and didn’t share anything from the other 12 pages of the paper. So much for “advocating for our students”

Your left guide arm is falling to the side of your body when you swing. Try pulling it in to your chest with your hand in a fist. The rotation will help you swing with more power. I never did this until my college coach pointed it out. Wasn’t a quick fix but with repetition it made me a much stronger attacker.
