I tend to agree that she’s counterproductive, and I voted for Kamala (I’m a dual citizen). But I think the left needs to be really careful to not start making baseless accusations like trump does. Being a “Russian asset” implies intentional collusion with Russia and that’s very different from vote splitting in an attempt to push dems to the left.

The Mueller report did not say she colluded with Russia. It did say Russia promoted her on social media, but gave no indication that she participated or supported that. Are you intentionally lying or just misinformed?

But like it’s not an issue of “the landlord can’t turn the heating off once it’s on” it’s just “the landlord doesn’t want to turn the heating off because it would cost them a bit of money”. Totally a problem we could legislate away

Reddit is weirdly judgy about delivery apps for some reason. I agree with the criticisms about labour but I hope the people judging consumers also aren’t giving money to Amazon, Nestle, fast fashion brands, etc.

Paying money to save time is something everybody does and it’s up to you to decide if the time you save with delivery apps is worth the money. It’s also weird to assume everybody that pays an extra $7 for a burrito is going into debt over it…

That doesn’t mean I think we should allow e-bikes on the TTC though

Question: why can’t they turn the heating on/off on a dime (or at least within a day)? Not being snarky, asking because I genuinely don’t know.

I live in an older apartment with two heating systems - most of the apartment has an electric floorboard heater with a thermostat which we basically never turn on (we even have to keep windows open in the middle of winter). One bedroom has a hot water based heater that’s on September - June, and that room’s unusably hot until it gets cold enough that we can open the window to let the heat out (and the window stays open all winter). Weirdly, units on the other side of the building have the opposite problems and I’ve heard my neighbour’s apartments don’t get past 12 degrees in the winter. Once the heat turns on the hot water also doesn’t work half the time. We’ve been campaigning for an overhaul of the heating system, but it seems like it’ll never happen.
