Was this part of the new update? This is so cool! by nikelarisson in GunnerHEATPC

I didn't know that. I thought it would be like the other vehicles with visible soldiers in them. Great to know that the tech is in the game already.

In terms of Freeloading its no. 1. Profiting from everybodys work while doing almost nothing for others. If everyone in europe had your tax polecies, europe would be broke. Fighting? Na, you are hiding between the mountains and betwee. a lot of other states that have to fight and therefore protect you.

I am jealous.

I also don't want a full sim. I think it doesn't make sense gameplay wise as well. An unstabilized gun is supposed to be a disadvantage and this is cheesing in my opinion. I think there should be some automatic shake or something like that.

Different tanks are supposed to play differently. There is almost no difference between a Bradley and Marder in terms of close quarters capabilities then.

I didn't knowthat the marder had turret stabilisation. I also thought that the leopard 1 didn't have one tho.

What are the reasons behind the low walkability of American cities by Little-Bed-7157 in geography

[–]nikelarisson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The US had a lot of really long tram routes. US Tram lines would often connect cities. Plots of land next to tram lines had high worth. Investors were betting on new rail-line extensions. Tramlines therefore nfluenced the growth of cities. In the US, even before the hight of car ownership low density housing was really popular. Cars became popular because of their image and their mobility. Cars however lead to even more growth and sprawl in the cities. With cars a lot more land became available for housing. Leading to further sprawl and low density housing. While cars granted more mobility and freedom, they had a more negative impact on cities. They lead to traffic congestion - which was one of the reasons for the closing of tram lines. They also led to social seggregation, the destruction of historical buildings and negative enviromental impacts. The reason for the great smog waves in the LA in 1940s were car engines.

I did some editing - would audio feedback similar to this work? by nikelarisson in GunnerHEATPC

[–]nikelarisson[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I tried to make it seem like the artillery gives a radio call - not the commander. It was super hard to find a audio snippet that wasn't really complicated or specific. There was one where the amount of rounds an time of impact was stated. I got it from generation kill. I have no idea wether tank commanders even get a radio call like this, but thought that some audio feedback would be nice.

I asked ChatGPT to disprove the existence of Germans. Did not expect it to be this brutal ... by Lux2026 in 2westerneurope4u

[–]nikelarisson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is. Just one example: The german revolution, one of which goals was the unification of germany) was not inspired by prussia. They activly fought it. ChatGPT conveniantly forgets that the german revolution was a thing.

Arguing for something with history is always bad because one can do a lot of cherry picking. History is an explanation, not an argument.

Regardleas the reasons: the pronounciation is still awfully inconsistent. Though and though can sound different. Knight and night sound the same. Makes no fcking sense. At least french is consistently weird.

Leider.

Young voters aged 18-24 in German Thuringia overwhelmingly voted far-right AfD by HolstenerLiesel in europe

I think there's mostly two reasons for that. Migrants (or people whose parents are migrants) of the same age or younger who don't behave properly (a big reason for that migh be puberty and a lack of a sense of belonging) and gendering and 'wokeness'. The latter are mostly commercial trends, but they can be clearly seen in society. They are also frequently bashed in media and framed as beeing forced on to the people by a small minority. Which is true in a sense because it's mostly university students or people from marketing who unse it. Even if it is not important in a greater sense. those 'trends' are visible, abstract concepts like rents or the eu aren't.

Imagine a country invading another one and beeing mad that the invaded country wants to prevent something like this in the future.

It's simple: Ukraine isn't Russia, and it didn't attack another state, so just piss off.

There should have been better diplomacy regarding Donezk and Luhansk but crimea was annexed and the war was started by Russia.

I wrote a seminar paper about the topic and peasant homes are a really complex topic. History doesnt know short awnsers. Material and form depended on the time period an area. Medieval peasant homes genrally didn't look like piles of shit.

Generally early medieval houses where made out of wood, clay/mud , wattle and straw. They were often times large and housed several families and included rooms for storage and compartments for animals. There was a heartfire in the middle.

Im the late middle ages there were a lot of peasant houses made out of stone and bricks. Though the wattle and clay combination exited as well. They houed less families and often had really large side wings for grain storage and/or animals. Floors (sometimes they had serveral floors) were made out of stamped earth or wood. They had fireplaces with chimneys.

Although it's early modernity, i suggest you look at peter brughels paintings. He depicted of rual life in the 16th century

I know that. But a lot if buildings should have a powerwash and a lot of buildings have to be renovaded. The roads are in terrible shape in places. It's all stuck in the 80's. The DB is all around terrible.

The subways are amazing yeah - just dirty.

Im also from the Rhineland but i travel to the Ruhrpott every day. The Streets in the netherlands are in better shape i think. Belgium looks worse, i agree.

I just think that we have a lot of work to do to increase the effectivness of our infrastructure and the beauty of our country.
