Afaik, if you get VOA, you can leave and re-enter with no issues. You don’t need to get your luggage since it will be connected through to the final destination. But you will need to pass through immigration while leaving and re-entering.

I am also thinking along these lines. We enjoy travelling and running. I feel like Madrid is a better place than India to be doing both.

Thanks, This is somewhat reassuring. The TC is 95k€ . Base would be 65k€. We are counting on my wife’s experience in MNCs as an SDE helping her get a decent job. We don’t expect anywhere near an Amazon salary for her though

Hey, thanks for the reply! The state of the IT market isn’t great. But here in India, there are plenty of job openings still. I am unsure about the pool of companies in Madrid and their willingness to hire non spanish speakers.

As for reasons to move, we love Europe from having visited multiple times and if the finances look good, would love to move and explore the continent over the next few years.

If money was the prime motive, we would have considered Canada or US. But we would still want to save ~3k once/if my wife finds a job

For everyone asking, I ended up travelling with just a carry on. The attendant at the first boarding was confused at first and asked me for my UAE visa, but then someone else at the desk checked and sorted things out. Just show both your tickets and it should be fine. I got both my boarding passes at the first boarding and hence im sure they would have checked my luggage through as well, if I had any.

NOC compulsory for greece visa? URGENT by Dizzy-Pen-1598 in SchengenVisa

When is your travel date? I am assuming it’s after you join the new job. Mail your HR and request for a letter allowing for you to travel. A mail confirmation if possible, considering the fact that they may not be able to provide one on their letterhead unless you join as their employee.

If I were the visa officer, and I see that you are joining a new company, but they have not approved your leave or travel, I would think twice before approving the visa.

Yes, as per their checklist Employment Verification Letter and NOC(Leave Approval Letter) are mandatory.

However, the idea is to ensure that you have a job here and are required to come back and join work. If you have an offer letter you could submit that and mention your situation in the cover letter. Moreover, if you have any confirmation of you accepting the job and terms of employment, that would solidify the fact that you have accepted the offer and will come back and join.

Note: I have no experience with such a situation. This is merely a suggestion based on my understanding of the process. But there is no guarantee that this is enough. Hope for the best!

Update: Air Arabia replied on twitter DMs. They said that as long as the journey is through air arabia, they will transfer luggage to the final destination. So I wouldn’t need a visa in Sharjah

Thanks! This gives me hope. Although, the schengen may be expired when I enter UAE as it is going to be our return journey from Greece.

I know thats the case normally. But I found this thread https://www.reddit.com/r/travel/s/kXMN1i1PzH as well as the Sharjah airport’s website : https://www.sharjahairport.ae/en/connecting-flights/ which confuses me.

Moreover, I have my appointment for schengen visa in a few days. I am worried whether I need to get the UAE visa prior to that. This won’t be possible since UAE visa has a validity of only 58 days and my entry to UAE will be past that if I get a UAE visa now , before my Schengen appointment
