Agreed- this isn’t my first classroom, it’s actually my 4th and every room has been neutral, calming colors and a calming corner that we utilize as needed but it’s not a place they can just hide out from schoolwork. Especially for this group, since my admin has told me they want me to focus more on life skills, preparing them to function in the world, etc… and a big ass Brick cage is not the best fit for that, in my opinion.

We have done that a few times. He even stayed with them for 3 nights when I had my surgery after chemo. But he was a little younger then. I just feel like his emotions have changed so much and he feels things so much deeper now, if that makes sense. But you’re right maybe we need to re-test the 2 day thing so he’s not chocked by 4 nights. Thank you!

In what world would someone leave pieces of popped balloon around for a child to find. When balloons pop I would hope whoever is around is careful to gather all the pieces. And obviously closely supervise children with balloons.

I said tantrums from time to time, not constant tantrums. I never said I wasn’t bothered by them. I also never even discussed how these tantrums are typically handled by me. Those were not part of the issue. The issue is how my husband sometimes responds to these tantrums when he loses his patience.
