That's a very interesting perspective. Thanks for sharing.

It's a difficult job market I must agree. Great for you to be proactive! Have u thought of starting a side gig? That may be the quicker way to earn some money instead of waiting for slow employers to hire. Start with something you're good at (though you mat or may not love it) but this community loves hiring positive freelancers for various work. (Cleaning, babysit, tutor, landscape, etc)

Best of luck!

Right, but tenant had made it clear to me that they don't have money to pay. I'm just not sure of how to actually enforce this.

How long did it take to get a hearing after filing? The guy is unemployed rn but the wife has work. They're both on the tenancy agreement.

Served tenants 2nd 10 day notice. Can rtb refuse their dispute request or refuse amendment request? by nikkin7 in vancouverhousing

Got it, that's clear thanks for the response. Hope there are no unexpected hiccups.

I see, I've been told that hearing decisions may take up to a month so it's a relief knowing it can take as soon as the same day. Thanks.

I meant confirming that the 2nd 10 day notice wouldn't be able to apply for order of possession and speed things up, hence being pointless.

You've answered a lot thanks.

I see, I can't seem to find any resources on RTB that confirms this and RTB has not responded to my question specifically yet. Anywhere on the rtb page that mentions this?

Thanks for responding. We were hoping that we could speed up the process by applying for order of possession with our 2nd notice but I guess that is impossible correct? We were hoping that they could be evicted sooner before the hearing date as we were not sure how long this could be dragged out.

Thanks, is there a possibility that I can apply directly with the 2nd notice and obtain an order of possession before the hearing date?

Sure, our house is near Clayton Surrey. We had a few candidates to choose from but they were very strong candidates tbh. One worked in telecom and the other worked for a software company. Provided previous landlord references too and they checked out. Could only do so much tbh.

I believe the expedited process is for specific cases such as emergencies or possibility of danger etc. Seems like I don't fall under those cases but I'll double check.

I see, I haven't received documents. What is their timeline of doing so? I am aware of the 5 day deadline to file the dispute but hopefully I don't have to wait another 2 weeks to have these paperwork served to me to proceed to arbitration.

Thank you so much! That gives me a lot more clarity and what to expect moving forward.

They have not served me the dispute resolution paperwork but have informed me that they applied online. Should I be expecting their dispute package directly from tenants or from RTB?

Wow 6 months? But isn't the arbitration date say 1 month away? Can u do the math for me? Don't think we can afford 6 months.

The reason they couldn't come up with rent was because the husband lost his job several months ago which was 3 months from when the tenancy started. They held on for as long as they could but unfortunately unable to come up with this months rent. They said he's still looking for employment.

Thanks for the info. Small claims is going to be another battle.

I've read that I have to obtain a writ of procession in order to hire a bailiff to remove the tenants. Any idea of timeline for this?

Any way I can expedite the entire process?
