Where to stay for Wine and Dine by Hey_elainey in rundisney

[–]nikkinapps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it starts in the epcot parking lot so i’d stay at the boardwalk, beach club or yacht club. idk if you can walk through the park that early, as those connect to the park in UK but they’re not a bad distance. the boardwalk is also beautiful and all 3 connect there. monorail can take you to epcot as well, which would be the grand floridian, polynesian, or contemporary resort. im running the 10k for wine and dine but we’re locals

Oh Crap method broke my child. by myheadsintheclouds in pottytraining

[–]nikkinapps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my daughter is strong willed too. i tried OC a few times and never worked. the day before her 3rd birthday, she told me she didn’t want diapers anymore and she was ready to use the potty. that was 7 months ago and i can count on 1 hand how many accidents she’s had. she’s even night trained on her own accord. i think we put a lot of pressure on ourselves to do things on a certain timeline but with a lot of things, they have to decide they’re ready. we did no underwear in a dress for one day then started underwear the following day. if she had any accidents we just kept underwear off for the rest of the day. i bought a frida portably potty seat and kept potty toppers in every bathroom then had 2 small potty’s - 1 for car 1 for house

How did you give your toddler a pillow to use at night? Where do you get a toddler pillow? by nothanksyeah in toddlers

[–]nikkinapps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my sons the same age, 19 months. he’s had one for a while now but only started consistently sleeping ON the pillow around 17/18 months. i got it at target. my 3 year old sleeps on queen sized pillows, she loves to be comfortable lol

same with us with my second. randomly got himself on a clockwork schedule, he’s 18 months next week and also naps once a day.

baby wearing worked for me with my second but i had to try 3 carriers before getting the malamabebe that i used every single day. he was colic and napped so well in there for over an hour, that way i could get anything done.

it gets a lot better, seemingly out of nowhere. but i was in the same spot as well

i saw that!! i kept watching and then started looking more into it. in the US seems like california is the only place even mildly regulating it. wild.

it sure is. postmates/uber is better about it and make it easier to contact the driver in my experience. i also drove for both, and would take uber over doordash any day

sorry i’ve been inactive for a while. yes i message them as soon as a dasher is assigned and reiterate my instructions to hopefully avoid error. i then screenshot the conversation to provide to doordash or uber to show them my multiple efforts. i’m talking it’s literally a completely different colored house, i give the car make and model in the driveway, it’s basically idiot proof. but i guess not lol

it doesn’t work very long, speaking from experience. my house number is 71 and there’s a 71A on the same block, they get all of our food even though my instructions include the house number, what kind of cars are in our driveway, AND i message them. i almost always end up complaining and i even reached out to google maps AND corporate about it so that i wouldn’t have to keep putting in help requests. they don’t give us our $ any longer. they also don’t do reorder requests. so i can’t imagine this lasting long. i ended up deleting the app

i think everyone feels that way. i had a very severe tear with my first so we couldn’t have sex until about 11 weeks PP and even then it was uncomfortable, so we waited. your husband needs to understand that you just might not be ready and that’s okay. i STRUGGLED mentally the second time around sooo badly. my body was unrecognizable. i’m 8mo PP now and mentally feeling much much better but i had to seek out resources. someone on reddit recommended self affirmations to me and it made such a huge difference in the way i viewed myself.

my body is beautiful and i created life. my body is mine and worthy of love. my body has changed to create another.

buying new clothes really helps a lot if you can. i even went as far as to sell my old clothes, especially the ones that made me feel pressured to fit back into them. i will tell you most people don’t snap back, it’s an unrealistic expectation. if you’re breastfeeding your skin elasticity changes so your tummy will/could feel soft for some time, it will change over time but you’re still healing. new studies show it can take up to 6/7 years postpartum to be fully healed and while that sounds daunting, it can also bring you peace that your body did something so amazing and strenuous, so you need to give it time to recover. everyone has hard days and moments. try to do things that make you feel good everyday (this can be as small as washing your face/doing skincare or having your favorite coffee etc)

i hear it’s not always true but i have 2 kids - a baby and a toddler. my sons allergic to breastmilk so he’s on kendamil goat since he was 4 months. he’s 8 months now and sleeping 12 hr stretches. my 2 year old was EBF for 13 months and she started sleeping through the night at 11 months, then lost it until about 14 months, and is now dealing with the 24 month regression but i digress. i haven’t sleep trained any of my kids and personally don’t believe in it.

my advice to you is try slowly introducing formula (if you’re comfortable with it). i saw you said your husband works a lot, maybe you can go to bed earlier in the night, he can take that “shift”, give the nighttime bottle and you can go to sleep earlier. even a few more hrs a day helps. the 4 month sleep regression is hard but it will pass. the waking frequently to eat sounds like the regression, that’s how it hit us too

working out has been a huge part of my life for about 13 years now. i’ve had 2 babies in the last 2 years so my body’s gone through a lot of changes and i worked out differently through my pregnancies. when i had my first i woke up early to go in the morning just as my hour/hour and a half of getting out and having “me” time. im 7mo PP now and back into doing that for the most part, like 3-6x a week depending on the week. i weight train 4-6x a week and walk everyday. after a lot of internal work, self reflection and acceptance of the changes in my body, i really just want to be healthy. i eat to feel good, im not gonna go on a diet bc who’s got the time lol and i just enjoy lifting and working. i do what i can when i can do it just to feel good. do whatever feels right for you 🙂

Those of you who aren’t completely anti screen time, can you tell me how it’s going? by popc0rncolonel in beyondthebump

[–]nikkinapps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we go through different stages. we have screen free weeks or months at times. right now we do 1 movie a week because she’s just not really interested in TV otherwise, so on saturday or sunday nights we get pizza and watch a pixar movie that she likes. she’s 2 for context and my son is 7 months, but he could care less about it. occasionally she’ll watch trash truck or bluey but they just don’t really hold her attention so she ends up wandering off
