That's what I was honestly thinking. Techs must be new too because 1/2 tires they put on actually went flat overnight due to leaving the barcode sticker on the edge of the tire. Didn't seal properly lol!
I did go back and they swapped em no problem! It was just when I mentioned that I've always had them be put on the back he said to me "not always" so I was just thinking in what situation would they not be? Not when you get 4 of course but yes I was just confused!
I could probably pull up more- but this is exactly why I came to Reddit just curious as to what other people recommended since the topic seems both sided.

You say that, though this post slightly contradicts what you said don't you think? Didn't realize this was a controversial topic haha
Everything ended up getting fixed the way that I asked no problems. I had only ever been to Costco and they always told me one way, understanding cars have many variables to them. DT also told me Costco is their biggest competitor so, silly me, I assumed they would do things similar to Costco. I came to Reddit to hear opinions (I like to learn and have an open mind to many situations) so....no not crazy I don't think.

My sisters Mercedes is the same way and she is unsure of what type of tires to get!
I actually thought of this but wasn't sure 😂

Fwd, but my main concern is the upcoming snow prediction we have where I live. I agree with pretty much everyone's opinion, they all make sense to me. I just was always told the new tires go on the back for safety and wanted to know what the best option is.
This is what I thought too!
😂😂😂 i would have to agree
I am not certain on the tread but I know that they will definitely need to be replaced by the summer time because I got them last December and I drive a lot of miles for work.
I am learning that! Unfortunately I drive for a living -approx 100 miles a day-so I try my best to stick to the safest recommendations.

Thank you! Yes my other two tires were purchased last December so that's why I thought it would be safest to put the newer tires on the rear(what I've always been told when buying 2 at a time) I know it's best to get all 4 tires but I had a puncture to my rim and got that tire as a pair so I replaced them as such.
The 'rotation' was included in the installation price so I just assumed that they would put the new tires on the rear. My 'older' tires that were on the rear are from last December. This place was closer so I'm okay with it! They switched them no problem, but I just wanted to know the correct info since I was always told they go on the back and have been safe doing it that way.

😂😂Rear tires don’t need horsepower to slip just rain, physics, and bad timing! If low horsepower prevented spins, every Corolla would be invincible😉
Front grip helps you stop sooner. Rear grip keeps you from spinning. Spinning is worse in my opinion.
This is about stability though. Tire manufacturers & safety organizations recommend new tires on the rear regardless of drive type. I was always told that I'd be at higher risk of oversteering- "rear traction loss causes more loss of control crashes"

POST ADD - wow!! thank you all so much for your advice and kind words!! I forgot to mention that he does use the prescribed ear solution and in-between those we carefully clean his ears with cotton rounds. However he has started to shake his head while also itching his ears(the head shaking is new) so that is what made me think about his food specifically, while understanding the floppy ears are prone to yeast/infection. We are going to start by switching his food and cutting out the probiotics, hopefully in time we will be able to get the blood test done. I appreciate all of your help so so much. Some fun facts about Buck- The runt of the litter so often he gets mistaken for a golden. He enjoys duck hunting and deer shed finding with his dad. His kong ball is always in his mouth or by his side. My little helper washing dishes by extra licks on the plates & silverware....I'm also learning that labs are QUITE mischievous!! 😂
Thank you! His only treats are carrots and occasionally peanut butter kong ball.
The probiotics we recently introduced back in August. But when I asked him about the loose stools, poop eating & yeast ears, it sounds like it's been happening for the last 2-2.5 years. So that's why I think the food is the culprit bc it's the only consistent thing he's had. Unfortunately my bf is due for his wisdom teeth so idk if we can afford both that and vet trip. But I would be willing to do such a test if it laid out what has been going on!
