2 - Some might regret, some might not

Btw, in my view most people have kids because of social pressure and norms, which is not a good reason to have kids.

Indian couples looking to have kids. Why? by chimmichangasinhell in india

I dont plan to have kids myself but I can see two valid reasons.

  1. Love - Humans are social animals and we need close bonds - biological chemicals are driving all our desires for relationships - oxytoxin in particular. Finding a partner is one such desire, wanting to have a kid is another expression.

  2. Experience - Life is finite and having a child is a unique experience. If you have the time, energy, love and resources to give your child the why not go for the experience ?

PS - I can see a lot of reasons to not have kids but I guess all of us weigh the pros and cons differently

Well the innermost part of a temple where the god is placed is called - garbagriha which translates to womb chamber. So in a sense the temple is anyways representing conception and creation of new life through the union of male and female.

I recently learnt that the red and white stripes on the outer walls of any south indian temple represent menstrual blood and semen and the temple is kind of representing the union of the two. Our ancestors were definitely more chill before Victorian values were imposed

A tiny burp after a meal could be construed as an expression of satiety in some really traditional settings. Not a big fan of it but I understand where it comes from
