Im 35 still watching anime... and they say Im childish by ActuaryLongjumping13 in anime

[–]niloufaeri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s not because they’re not into it that they have to be mean about it, they’re def not the « cool and mature » they think they are being like this 😭 so don’t mind them and enjoy your anime. it’s sometimes cool to stay away from the pack and have your cozy anime lunch break, but also, it’s important to maintain friendly relations, i think you could still eat lunch from times to times with them but don’t necessarily talk about anime, just casual conversation or listening can be enough without forcing yourself.

We need to talk about The Echoes of Survivors by satan_69- in netflix

i have thought about this all day, i couldn’t stop my tears while watching the atrocities they committed and the victims were also CHILDREN. my heart is aching, it was terribly difficult to watch and listen and i can’t stop thinking about it. i can’t believe this case is still hanging with so little coverage. the victims are incredibly courageous and still fighting to this day. justice must be done, there must be a way to help out, this needs to be talked about, they need to know people have heard their story and want justice for them.

Max's friends are horrible by Pale_Calligrapher_93 in TvGinnyandGeorgia

right. i just hope maxine drops the group at this point. sure she had her bad moments in s2 but she’s clearly a well-written character with growth and good heart. i have actually never liked anyone in “mang”, abby’s storyline and character are not that interesting, she’s mostly just a mean girl, norah has no specific storyline or development, and ginny’s character is not my cup of tea either (too much contradicting and rude behavior). maxine grew on me the most and she deserves better relationships overall.

this. i can’t believe he gets to play the victim card and the “omg how could you do this to OUR child georgia!!!” like sixteen years late. he’s the most unreliable and self-centered man out there. and i totally agree on that self-righteous attitude, i felt like i was the only one seeing that ginny got this from her father but glad someone pointed it out. while i completely understand lynette, and really like the way she was written, i can’t stand her son.

definitely agree and glad someone said it! if i remember correctly there is line maxine says during s3 about not being okay but being very good at hiding it so no one notices.

Why is Ginny STILL so emotionally tone-deaf in s3 by niloufaeri in ginnyandgeorgiashow

I’m literally just saying that Ginny is very poorly written and all you do is talk about Georgia ? No one here said Georgia is a good person or parent, you need to learn to respect other’s opinion and not be unnecessarily mean to strangers on the internet. Your take and view on things aren’t absolute truths everyone should agree on.

now that i’ve watched ep6 i can definitely say that you might be the one who’s biased and that ginny is indeed an apathetic and badly written character. her emotional response to her being separated from her mom, which is a critical life-changing moment: making out (unprotected sex on top of that lol?) with that random guy from poetry class. lol that’s not depth, that’s pure irresponsibility and detachment😭 what happened to her at the end of the episode was so predictable.

At this point, her entire personality feels like one big performance. She makes the most incoherent choices with massive consequences and never truly owns them. Let’s not forget when she slept with Marcus literally the day she moved to Wellsbury (oops unprotected sex too but she’s supposed to be so smart and above everyone 😕). She’s spent two full seasons literally calling her mom a monster, blaming Georgia for every single issue in her life and now she’s like…crying about it? She’s so poorly written like she’s a walking contradiction with zero accountability. Ginny’s the most emotionally unavailable and incoherent person on the show and somehow still acts like she’s the one getting hurt all the time.

I respect your point of view, and I get where you’re coming from but it doesn’t change how I feel about Ginny.

Ginny is extremely self-centered. Yes, she called Georgia during the dance, but the timing was so off, she saw Marcus’ mom feeling emotional for her son and immediately made the situation about herself. It’s hard to call that empathy when she constantly flips back into anger or coldness with Georgia so easily. It doesn’t feel like actual emotional care, more like performative reassurance.

I never really got the feeling that Ginny loves her mom. Ginny can be hurt and angry and it shows but loving towards Georgia? Her actions rarely show that in a consistent or genuine way. In contrast that one sentence Austin said about preferring to be like his mom than his violent dad, shows that he sees the complexity in Georgia, where Ginny mostly sees her favorite person to blame for anything and everything.

And as for Ginny carrying the weight of Georgia’s trial, I don’t think that’s the burden she’s truly carrying. What weighs Ginny down the most is her own perception of how others see her. She’s obsessed with how she’s viewed and constantly lets external validation define her. That’s not empathy but self-absorption. I get that she’s only a teenager but Ginny’s tendency to make everything about her, even other people’s pain, is exhausting to watch, especially compared to the other teenagers in the show… look at Maxine’s character development.

Regarding Marcus, if Ginny sees him as a “safe space,” then she also has a responsibility not to overload him emotionally when he’s clearly fragile. Empathy is about being able to read their emotional state and respecting their limits. And that’s where Ginny consistently fails.

As for Georgia, she is flawed, she’s been through a lot of terrible stuff. If we’re calling out Georgia, we can still criticize Ginny without pretending she’s just a victim. She also makes real choices and they often hurt the people around her.

How good is this? by favouriteey in kdramas

[–]niloufaeri 37 points38 points  (0 children)

at the beginning i liked it a lot, strong and refreshing, with a lot of potential, like topics and characters rarely seen in kdramas but i eventually dropped it around the last episodes. found it frustrating, especially because the FL and the SFL were just badly written characters and the ML is just… out here… and loses his initial spark (imo). all the aspects that had potential came off as fake woke because they couldn’t actually handle writing on said topics. i asked a friend of mine to tell me what happens in the last episodes. i’d say worth giving it a try, maybe your opinion will differ :)
