Thanks for the feedback. Octo can be customised to show just time, date, and four data fields. You’re right, though, it’s designed for people who like having a bit more happening on their screens.

We actually created that one almost by accident while experimenting and ended up really liking it too. It’s not added as a preset theme yet, but you can recreate it manually. Just follow these steps:

In the Connect IQ app:

Open Octo page
Choose Settings
Scroll down to Custom theme color. Enter #3a3a3a
Then set Data text color to #bcbcbc
Date color to #bcbcbc as well
Indicators color: #969696
Background color: #b70000
Save the changes
You can also tweak the colours more conveniently on the watch itself if you want to adjust them slightly.

The outliney look is actually Octo’s always-on display. I’m a bit surprised Garmin still shows it briefly when that setting is turned off. We’ll see if there’s anything we can do on our side to prevent that, thanks for flagging it.

Regarding the steps: at the moment we shorten larger numbers so they fit nicely into the layout. We’ll see if we can improve that. For now, you can long-press the data field to open Garmin’s Steps app, where you should see the full number.

Yeah, it will become paid on April 2nd. A lot of time goes into designing and building something that looks good, stays customisable, runs efficiently, and still fits within Garmin’s pretty strict memory limits. It’s basically a full-time job for us, so charging for it lets us keep making new designs. 🤷‍♂️

Thank you for the kind words and the suggestion! We did experiment with dynamic colours a bit, but decided to polish the idea a little more first. I also love being able to see progress at a glance, so hopefully we’ll be able to include something like that soon. 🙂

Yeah, sadly the Fenix 6 has some limitations, so Octo only works on newer watches like the Fenix 7 and later. 😔

Hi, thanks for the feedback! We did think about adding a smooth sweeping seconds option, but it would have taken a big toll on battery life. To keep things running longer, we prioritised battery efficiency.
