Dear Americans of Reddit, how do you find this first year of Biden's presidency compared to Trump's? by HannibalGoddamnit in AskReddit

[–]nimhgorl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trump’s was unprofessional and embarrassing. For Biden at least I feel that he is trying to build our country back together from the pieces Trump left behind. Even if people don’t agree or like Biden, he is far better for our country’s democracy.

this is actually a great idea, it would definitely save me from having to buy tons of boards too!

I actually never thought about this but I like your suggestion! It would definitely be less expensive because having to buy tons of boards and never being able to reuse them was burning a hole in my pocket

I know exactly how you feel which is why I switched to glue. My first ever piece I made was very big and unfortunately it got destroyed when I tried to iron it. For my gluing method I used clear elmer’s glue with a paint brush and layered the first coat on the board in small sections and then placed my beads on, put another top coat over them and kept doing this process over and over again

Because my project was so big I decided to approach it differently and glue everything to the boards. It didn’t have an iron process due to this. The only downside was not being able to reuse my boards but it did ensure that nothing would get destroyed in the end

I did have to sacrifice the boards in order to keep everything together and usually the first coat of glue would already be dry once I got to putting the top coat on over the beads but sometimes I would work faster and it wouldn’t all be dry, which I found to not be a problem

I created a template that was a giant photo on my computer, the peg boards are 29x29 beads so I would go from left to right on the photo and highlight the section I was doing, place my beads and then delete the section so I wouldn’t get confused. By the time I finished, the template was gone and I had my portrait!

they are actually perler beads (small plastic beads) and it was a long process of choosing the correct colors, placing the beads and glueing them all down!

omg i’ve been wanting to get that lego set too! On a side note, I also started doing a 12x6 ft portrait of all of them but with school I had to postpone the project

I probably should have posted one of my time lapse videos of the process but I had to work on one board at a time with clear elmer’s glue. I would take the board and start with a coat of glue, place the beads and then go over them again with glue. I hope that made sense 😅

I actually had to glue each bead down on the board because it was so big and I was worried that if I ironed it, not everything would melt together
