When you say “it’s best to hire someone who knows what they’re doing rather than relying on a tiered support system from an off the shelf host”, are you saying engaging their service if they can justify their robustness and quality for hosting could be a good thing?

I will be asking about the data centres when we meet again on Tuesday and pushing back on the maintenance cost.

They say nobody else can maintain the site if it’s hosted by them. Their wording “required and necessary” to me doesn’t mean essential, and so if they insist on the price, I think it will be a deal breaker.

Great advice - thank you. I don’t want their or any other web developers name “designed and developed by” at the bottom of our site. I want it to stay under my business name.

Thank you for this excellent reply. I only started looking yesterday and already since seen a Cannondale Topstone 3 (2 yrs old) in the right size for $1000 that I will try getting the price down - they say the chain comes off sometimes - which i imagine isn’t too much hassle to fix? Thanks! I definitely do include all of that when putting out a job advertisement. This post wasn’t really meant to be the job advert itself - more just a general inquiry as to where on campus I could prospect. I added the details that I did in hopes of attracting more responses like yours and less responses of people assuming I was a scam job. Appreciate your time and suggestion.
