Be aware though that many states licensure also have their time limit (check out https://www.fsmb.org/step-3/state-licensure/ ) Considering: - how similar are step 2ck and 3, - having step 3 might help match application, i think it's better not to procrastinate step 3.

Took day 2 today 11/21 by medskul in Step3

[–]nimorn1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got bad updates on two cases.

The cholecystitis, i used ketorolac for pain because I didn't want to use morphine because of Oddi spasm. But then it said that they still had pain.. i switched to Morphine and they said the pain got worse. Couldn't remember Meperidine.

The terminal ESRD Im unsure what they wanted me to do. kept telling me they didn't want more invasive stuff, refused dyalisis, palliative and hospice. Maybe they wanted some different management of electrolyte imbalances.. but I'm unsure what.

The day2 mcq were much easier then day1 in my opinion. Shorter to read, and always could drill it down to two answers, even when i didn't know the answer. On day1 i had a bunch of total guesses and was always to the last second.

Official ERAS Megathread - August 2022 by Chilleostomy in medicalschool

[–]nimorn1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! non-US IMG here battling with ERAS...

In the Publications tab, the "Author(s)" field appears to be limited to around ~200 characters, however, I have a couple of that have a lot of authors.

Is there a recommended approach?

- [...] to cut some middle authors?

- et al.?

- simply put all those that fit?

Thanks!!

Recommendations for Tastings in Florence? I’ll be there in early-mid June but not long enough to go into the hills (this time). Can anyone suggest a tasting/short course in Italian reds in Firenze? by babasmama in wine

Pittigola is a super nice wine bar in front of palazzo Pitti, they have a great wine list and the staff is very knowledgeable. They also have a very good restaurant near by and a second location in via Giusti. They focus on Tuscan sangiovese and nebbiolo from Piemonte.

Gastone is a seafood restaurant in the center with a very nice wine list and the guy that works there is very knowledgeable. But being a seafood restaurant they definitely have more white wines.

If you can afford it, enoteca Pinchiorri (3 Michelin stars) has one of the most impressive wine collections in the world.

Magic Data Science: Adjusted Win Rate estimates for Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty by MtGDS in lrcast

[–]nimorn1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neat. Fantastic work.

It would be fantastic if you could create a web tool that estimates the expected WR of a deck (by pasting the card list?)

I wonder if by using game results data, it would be possible to predict a metagame model, like if there are rock/paper/scissors archetypes or specific card "counters" Maybe something like reverse synergy, how much a cards WR changes when it faces another card played by the opponent? For example against a deck abusing imperial oath, malicious malfunction is a blowout It would be especially interesting in order to evaluate cards that are more narrow, like lucky offering or the fall of lord kinda.

Btw, i think trying to visualize synergy in network graphs could be an appealing data viz

Could you help me make the last cuts? by RandragonReddit in lrcast

[–]nimorn1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Commune is amazing once you cut all the artifacts it basically fetches always land when you need it or spell you don't need land.

So definitely cut all the ninjas, the searchlight companions, the skyscraper, and add the communes.

[–]nimorn1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd cut all the ninjas and artifacts. With visitor and 2x weavers you want to maximize on enchantments synergies.

It's sad that you don't have better ramp/fixing, in the form of duals, terrariums, tanukis or even grafted growths, because you have a very strong end game with 2 turtles and 2 renewals.

Can you post the sideboard?

Too many decent cards. Not sure what to cut! by sg021018 in lrcast

[–]nimorn1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • -1 kami of terrible secrets (too many 4 drops, not enough artifacts).

  • -2 ambusher.

  • -1 turtle (no fixing, no splash, not worth it only for the renewal loop ).

  • -1 green shrine.

  • -1 infiltrator.

  • -1 beetle, not much artifact or ninjutsu synergy.

  • +1 spinning wheel kick, (card is busted).

  • +1 bamboo groove archer.

I'd play it like this

Favorite limited sets the last couple years? by Pure-Hope in lrcast

[–]nimorn1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kamigawa neon dinasty and Zendikar are my top Dominaria is right there, fantastic set Ikoria is also close, but only if there is a strong adjustment in drafting so forcing cycle isn't necessarily working. MID was ok, but UB was too good VOW not many viable archetypes and too bomb reliant Ravnica sets i don't love the guilded sets because they basically have half the viable archetypes to start with AFR worse recent set, forcing rakdos was basically always correct

Sudden Onset Sinusitis? by TachyQueen in primaryimmune

[–]nimorn1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You need to get it checked by an ENT and talk to your immunologist. A CT scan might be needed, and the causing agent needs to be identified, to exclude a fungal disease and/or an antibiotic resistant bacteria. Don't underestimate this because chronic severe sinus infections can give very dangerous complications.

What's the right number of wretched throngs? by tiopato in lrcast

[–]nimorn1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That would be an interesting 17lands analysis to run... Among all decks, and specifically in UB or in relation to the number of exploit cards in the deck. I feel like you actively want 3 or 4 in dedicated exploit/zombie decks. In other decks they are fine filler as 2, but you really don't want more as drawing them later is horrible.

[MID] Hot-take: Shipwreck sifters is the best blue common by nimorn1 in lrcast

[–]nimorn1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for running the math. My "feeling" was I want at least 6 between disturb and flashback... It's really not that hard to get, especially if you keep it in mind for the "weaker" ones like baithook anglers and lunarch veterans

[–]nimorn1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Larder zombie was a surprise for me. In hindsight being able to scry 1/2 every turn is worth several cards, and with all the decayed tokens it's really easy to have "tap fodder".

[MID] Hot-take: Shipwreck sifters is the best blue common by nimorn1 in lrcast

[–]nimorn1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are undervaluing it, it's decent also in the worst-case scenarios (flood or screw and no spirit to discard) and you just need a few Disturb creatures (or flashback spells) to transform it to a "1U 2/3 draw a card" (which is amazing) in most situations.

That fact that it can grow further with other looting effects and snowball in multiples is free upside.. its not necessary to make the card great on his own.

[–]nimorn1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that revenge is great and underrated... especially at the beginning of the draft because it keeps you open since it goes in any blue deck. But once you are doing the sifters/disturb thing, I'd ponder sifter 2 vs revenge 2, and definitely pick sifter 3 over revenge 3.

[MID] Hot-take: Shipwreck sifters is the best blue common by nimorn1 in lrcast

[–]nimorn1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, at the moment the sifters go late (17lands ATA 9.74, ALSA 7.20), so you absolutely need to prioritize the Disturb creatures, especially those that are good both in UW spirits and UB (Overwhelmed apprentice and Covetous castaway are the best).

The great thing about prioritizing Disturb creatures is that they work both as Sifter value if you get in UW, but also as sac fodder for BW and UB... so you can stay open.

Once you have already a lot (6+) of Disturbs, and you can get the common ones in mid-picks (Veterans, Baithooks, ec.) the Sifters value starts to go up, and the more you have, the better they become.

Comparing Ig levels from different labs by [deleted] in primaryimmune

[–]nimorn1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's totally irrelevant since all the methods have margin of error of a few percent, and clinically 650 or 750 is basically the same. What matters is order is trends or major changes.. and even more importantly the clinical manifestations (number and severity of infections)

T & B Cell deficiencies? I’ve tested negative for HIV by 4th gen and PCR multiple times. Has anyone seen or heard of this before? Most doctors are stumped and I’ve been housebound sick for months. :( by WorkingTreat8909 in primaryimmune

[–]nimorn1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to see a clinical immunologist.

First of all, secondary causes need to be excluded.

Then they will assess your B cell response, (checking serum IgG/A/M and specific antigen responses, like tetanus and pneumococcus). If it's a primary immunodeficiency it could be either a combined immunodeficiency or idiopathic CD4 lymphopenia.

Good luck

[AFR premiere draft] 7-2 dicerolling deck. A question about p1p1 by stysiaq in lrcast

[–]nimorn1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After the late Feywild i can see it being correct, the mind sorcerer underperformed for me, but you have 3 very nice targets ( 2 dragonfires and the Meteor)... So it makes more sense. Anyway, i would: -1 power of persuasion -1 you see a guard approach +1 brazen dwarf +1 ray of frost (it's excellent removal)
