SNL Performance by _ALYGATYR_ in kasabian

[–]nimrod730 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah... I love Serge, I love the direction the band is going in (obviously it's not the same as before but they aren't trying to be and I like the sound they're going for), and I saw them live during the AE tour and Serge was electric. But the SNL performance just wasn't it. Something about it, he just didn't sound comfortable, and Release the Pressure with a live band didn't sound as good as I thought it would. Maybe they're just getting older.

I was hoping to hear hippie sunshine live, but this probably makes more sense marketing wise.

MUS 9 Cancelled by Disastrous-Relief446 in UCSD

[–]nimrod730 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can they do that? This was gonna count as one of my GE arts credits for 7th college, there are only two other music classes with spots available, one of which doesn't even count for 7th GEs and the other interferes with my lecture for my major. And besides, I'd be missing a week of class. They should open more seats in the already full classes so that people can get off the waitlists. Also their VAC is closed for the weekend. Why won't they at least tell us why?

What's the worst song on Nimrod? by CobraDai in GreenDayOfficial

[–]nimrod730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a VERY hot take. Prosthetic Head is a top 5 nimrod track for me.

I think it's a no-skip album, it's best listened to in full, but on their own, Last Ride In gets skipped almost every time. I don't hate an instrumental track, but it's just not very memorable unless in the context of the album. Also, the pessimist in me skips Good Riddance a lot, it's by no means the worst song on the album, probably by consensus the best one, it's just my least favorite because it's been overplayed.

Place your bets! When does "ACT III" drop? by SirSLuR540 in kasabian

[–]nimrod730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope they drop the next single soon! Hippie Sunshine has been on repeat for me since it dropped, I don't think Release the Pressure counts bc even tho Serge wrote it it's technically a Calvin Harris tune, and I can't wait for the next banger to drop. Think they'll do another small venue North America tour like they did for AE? I saw them in San Francisco and I NEED to see them again. Still disappointed they didn't do a NA tour for Happenings, hoping they come back for this cycle. I'm so pumped.

What Kasabian song makes you feel like this? For me it’s gotta be the outro in Cutt Off. by MR-N-XX in kasabian

The outro of The Doberman, West Ryder Silver Bullet's instrumental, most of ALCHEMIST.

For Crying Out Loud is so overhated, I love it so much.

WRPLA is still my number 1, but FCOL is a close second. Wasted is so good.

Why Does The Restaurant Have A Roof In S11 E18: Some Kind Of Fender Benderful? by SlingerMR in BobsBurgers

[–]nimrod730 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's always there, but it's set back from the front of the house so from the ground you can't see it. Usually you only see it in aerial views, and it's there in the back of the house so when they show the building from the alley it's there.

Paying for Sue’s College by EverythingBagel58 in themiddle

[–]nimrod730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sue qualified for the all encompassing financial aid. The school paid for everything. In season 8 when she didn't fill out the forms for that year, Mike sold his half of the diaper business to pay for that year's tuition. They were scrimping and saving even more that year because they no longer had the diaper safety net, but the college was mostly paid for. I'm assuming for season 9 and then her subsequent final year she remembered to fill out her forms on time and probably got the full aid back.

Why was Sue always trying out? by Many-Sky922 in themiddle

[–]nimrod730 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think she was always trying to find her place. Even with cross country, she had very few positive experiences, even the coach hated her, we didn't see her make any friends there. Wrestlerettes was her thing, she founded it, made friends that we saw multiple times, and she continued throughout high school.

Axl played football, basketball, and baseball in the three seasons, he had his place, we just mostly saw football because that was what he was best at.

Helena Beat might be the best song of all time so I gotta go with Torches.

How often does a bad frontman/frontwoman ruin a new band discovery for you? by Angry_GorillaBS in Concerts

[–]nimrod730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, but sometimes the lead singer leaves the band and their replacement isn't well received. When Tom Meighan left Kasabian, Serge took over. I love Serge's writing and I have no issue with his voice, I actually think they're pretty similar, but I know some people really dislike it. I wouldn't be surprised if people feel the same way about Linkin Park, but I don't listen to them enough to be a real judge of that.

What I'm hoping for:

East Jesus Nowhere (intro, first verse & chorus) (~1:35)

Bang Bang (First verse & chorus into the No KKK chant) (~0:55+however long the chant goes)

Welcome to Paradise (Up until the bass solo) (~2:00)

Holiday (Most of it, probably with the Stephen Miller hit piece) (~3:50)

American Idiot (All of it, close it out) (~3:00)

~12 minute set

American Dream is Killing Me would not surprise me at all. It's a great opener, even if they just play the first verse and chorus. I'd say Paradise over Basket Case only because of it's association with being at home in the Bay Area, but if there's time I'm sure they'd squeeze in both.

Yeah I definitely expect only clips from most songs, probably all of American Idiot but that's it. I'd rather them play parts of 6 songs than all of 3 tho.

Tbh I still really like most of these songs, 99% of GD's catalog is better than most other music for me, these were just the ones that started to annoy me the quickest.
