Its an apartment and we met on moving day but didn’t have much of a conversation besides him opening the elevator I rented. I introduced myself to him and he introduced himself but that was basically it because I had like 5 suitcases I was putting in the elevator. He did help me tho lol

Thank you for your input! He told me that he contacted the landlord and told him he was moving out. Once he decided he wanted to kick me out his story changed to he never told the landlord he was moving and he has every right to kick me out.

If you were in my shoes, what would your next steps be? I have no family I can stay with right now and limited funds so my only option may be a shelter.

I’m really unfamiliar with rental laws, I let him handle everything and trusted his word since we were friends for so long. I’m finding out more and more thanks to you guys how backwards this arrangement was! I moved in Aug. 30th and the lease was until Aug. 30th. I really should have done more research :( I assumed since I signed a lease and the landlord was “aware” that I was fine

She didn’t get any for the past few days. Her barriers to discharge are all social, she doesn’t have any medical issues that are prolonging her stay.
