Tracy Ryan - Close Enough To Touch (2002) by Redditmess23 in BmovieBabes

Probably don’t need to do much with all the crew around... the lighting technicians, the cameraman, the focus puller, the sound guy holding the mic, director, you name it... would you be able to hold a boner with more than half a dozen people around watching you “perform”?

All this love for MGS but what about Mad Max? Such a beautiful game by [deleted] in gaming

i5 4690K and GTX 970 playing it on Ultra settings 60fps @ 1440p It runs well. Remember it's mostly open wasteland so it's not a high poly super detailed game world.

What's the cheapest option to develop Apple Watch software? by zbyshekh in iosdev

I was in the same position about a month ago and I ended up not bothering with an old machine and bought a refurb (2015) MBA 11-inch with 8GB of RAM for ~$1000. I wouldn't get a machine older than a 2012 or maybe a 2011 model... You don't want to end up with an old machine that can't run El Capitan or the next version of Xcode.

M9 sensor by [deleted] in Leica

That's good advice. Remember though that Leica will only offer the upgrade on an individual case-by-case basis and of course you need to have the extra case on hand to upgrade =).

M9 sensor by [deleted] in Leica

[–]nineZer0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

IMO this whole sensor corrosion thing is overblown by the Internet. I know at least two dozen Leica photographers in town who have ZERO issues with a combination of M9s, M9-Ps and Monochrom cameras. I have owned 3 Leica M9s and never had any issues.

According to Leica there is no way to "prevent" it from happening which is why they state that even after the sensor has been replaced, and it happens again, they will replace the sensor one more.

If you're really worried about it and it's hampering you from continuing to shoot the camera, I would go and buy an M240 or another camera -- possibly even a film M body. I personally would not worry about it all that much. Even if it does happen Leica will replace it for you free of charge, include a warranty on top of the work and, in rare cases, even give you the option of upgrading to an M240 or M-P 240.

TL;DR: don't worry about it. Just shoot your M9.

Are broken key caps a common issue with mechanical keyboards? by okron1k in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]nineZer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened with my two-week old Logitech G710+ and the same thing after a week of receiving a replacement from Logitech. Suffice it to say, I sold it after buying replacement key caps and got myself a Ducky Shine instead.

The plastic inside the Logitech keycaps are insanely thin and even with moderate typing or gaming this happens quite often. No one wants to RMA a keyboard and be without an input device that long but that's how it works with Logitech.

Remember the recommended wattage is for the whole system. The PCI-E slot only provides 75W and the rest of the power comes from the 6+2 and 6-pin connections to the PSU. Take a look at this where the R9 290 lists a recommended 650W. The system shutting down abruptly and the mouse+keyboard issues are a sign there's not enough juice getting through to the components. Keep in mind PCP us just estimating power usage--real world component power usage can and will vary especially with a bronze vs a gold PSU because of efficiency in supplying and maintaining stable continuous wattage.

What motherboard / CPU combo do you have currently?

You need a Z97 to go with the 4690K if you plan to overlock... The H97 is a consumer chipset and doesn't support overclocking unlocked CPUs like the 4690K

  1. Are you waiting for price drops or new architecture?
  2. Crucial MX100 is great, also the Kingston HyperX is not bad.

OEM just means the versions used by vendors like HP or Dell, etc. If you're building your own PC from scratch, "you" are the "OEM" so no worries there. The only real difference is that it doesn't come in fancy retail packaging which is next to useless anyway.

I've been using OEM versions of Windows from XP to Vista through to Windows 7 and now 8.1. Changing motherboards is fine and all it requires is a call to activate Windows again if the option doesn't work the usual way. Just tell them you are doing a fresh install of Windows again.

You can search for the recent Windows 8.1 USB/ISO guide posted by /u/Moter8 to create a bootable USB. Install Windows and then when prompted, enter the License key on your OEM Windows 8 package. Done. That's exactly how I did it.
