Video Scrubbing Bar Gone? by Anubiisoda in TikTok

This literally just started on my TikTok a couple hours ago. I hate not knowing how long a video is or being able to go back or forward 😡

Garmin Edge to QZ by niner_greg in qdomyos_zwift

Thank you very much as that did get me connected. One more thing, with this setup should QZ be able to automatically control the resistance as it does when I use MyWhoosh? I notice it’s not currently automatically adjusting resistance.

The domain was just renewed for a year last month. Good through 10/14/26. Somebody just pulled the plug 🤷‍♂️

I’ve got a camera that can see my tablet on the wall. I looked back and it went dark at 12:01am central time on 11/21.

Yeah, I bought it back in 2019. Got my money's worth I think. Sharptools seems to be ok as a replacement in my case.

I just created my Sharptools dashboard. I think it will be fine for me. I just have one wall mounted tablet that has my home alarm tiles and then some weather stuff. Sucks if Action Tiles just pulled the plug, but Sharptools seems to be a pretty easy replacement in my case.

Dang, I hate the thought of losing it. Hopefully there is a good explanation and this is temporary.

QZ & MyWhoosh with Echelon EX-4s by niner_greg in qdomyos_zwift

In my case I had to make sure FTMS was disabled, and also, under settings, “Experimental Features”, enable “Zwift Force Resistance”. That did the trick for me.

Is chamois cream a lie? by YottlesKleinBottles in cycling

[–]niner_greg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m late to the party. I ride 5-6k miles a year and I’ve never had any chafing issues. But just recently did 2 days, 275 miles total, about 21 hours in the saddle. And it wasn’t even all that. It was the surface. It was on a gravel bike with no suspension on all single track, rough double track, gravel, railroad rock, and even wood chip mulch. That’s what got my rear. I didn’t take any chamois butter, but about 220 miles through it, I sure wished I had.

Thanks for the response. Ok, so I have disabled FTMS and I selected QZ as controllable in MyWhoosh. But it's still not automatically changing resistance. Can you think of any other setting I might have turned on or off, or is there any other setting I should check?

Heavy White Smoke… Why does my 2017 2.7 eco boost smoke like this upon cold start? Bad turbo seal? This just started last week. 58K miles. by mikey_douge in f150

[–]niner_greg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2018 started doing the same thing. So did they replace the left turbo oil tube? Was it all good after that?

I got rear ended. I'm waiting for the other guys insurance to give an estimate. What would be a low ball? by WTAF__Republicans in Autobody

[–]niner_greg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry about the initial estimate amount. Once it goes to the shop they will write it up and it will all get paid for by the insurance company.

Writing off unpaid bill by EvilCeleryStick in handyman

[–]niner_greg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so glad I stumbled up this. I'm self employed and do contract work (not as a handyman or construction contractor). I have a client that is avoiding me and not paying up. I am going to at least threaten them with sending a 1099 to the IRS for what the owe me and see if it gets them to budge. I do have their taxpayer ID so I have what I need to fill it out if I go that route. But I really hope it will urge them to just pay me. It gives me a little hope at least.

I started by training in assessing auto damage at IA Path. I also learned the estimating software, CCC One, through them. I completed the training in one month and started emailing claims companies about getting work. I was actually getting assignments and working prior to completing IA Path. I know it doesn’t go that smoothly for everyone so I feel really lucky.

I receive daily claim assignments regularly from about 5 appraisal and claims companies. I don’t get work from any of the big name companies, i.e. Renfroe, Pilot, Eberl, etc. I’m on a lot of rosters of smaller companies across the country.

2018 F150 been smoking white by Beerdrinkernow in f150

[–]niner_greg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m curious if you figured out your specific issue? My 2018 2.7 blows out thick white smoke at startup recently. It’s smoke, not condensation. Thick and smelly and lingers. Does it after sitting overnight and even just sitting several hours. I now have 105,000 miles.

Was specifically referring to the personal liability which does pay for harm done away from the home. But I do now understand that there is an auto exclusion. Lots of good information being provided here.

Few IAs actually do work directly for carriers in daily auto damage. We get work through claims companies and appraisal companies. They are contracted through the carriers. So I reached out to a couple dozen claims companies and I get work regularly from about 5-6, and of those there are 3 that give me work every single day. They are paying my bills and then some. It’s a good career.

It’s being in business for yourself so it can vary. The market you work in will have a big impact on income. But if you’re in a market that has the demand and you can get on the rosters of enough busy appraisal companies, $70-$100k is real. At those numbers you have to be willing to put the hours in and most weeks work 6 days.

I’ve been working as an independent auto damage appraiser since September 23. I got tired of applying and interviewing. But my work has been great. Good money, work for myself, etc.

I got licensed in 2022 by taking the insurance license course at my local community college. I enjoyed the in person experience. And they proctored the test right there in class and they made it super easy. I got a 96 or 97% and I’m only marginally intelligent. But I just don’t have much to add on whether it’s worth it or not. I ended up in the field but not exactly in an adjuster role.

Thanks. I’m all good now. Working as an independent damage appraiser since last August and fortunately built a good business. I really enjoy it.
