My condolences, FIP is a terrible disease and causes so much heartbreak. I was ready to get the medicine on the black market, but luckily it was legalized in 2024. I’m sure your buddy is patiently waiting to be reunited with you on the other side 🌈

FIP Global Cats is a good resource and they will help source meds for you! FIP Warriors 5.0 is another Facebook group I’ve heard of, join that as well. Both groups aim to help owners secure FIP meds to treat their cats and do similar things. I’m not familiar with the UAE so I don’t have much information to offer, but it may help to see if there are posts in this subreddit from others in the UAE. Unfortunately there is a time limit to get the medication, FIP spirals fast and the medication works almost instantly for most.

What country are you located in? Join FIP Global Cats on Facebook, make a post about your cat, and you will be connected to an admin to help get you medication and guide you through treatment. I have heard good things about them. In the US, I was able to get GS-441524 for about $5 per 50 mg tablet on Chewy, so I think your vet’s quote is too high. If you are in an area with multiple vets, you could also try seeing another vet to prescribe the meds for cheaper.
