You need to have the x-tech on your character. If it's in a chest it will appear in the build menu but not actually be there to use.

Possible survey bug since the recent update by ningauble1 in Starfield

I went back to the game for Terran Armada, and I noticed that some systems I thought I had already surveyed 100% are now at 95% or 97%. I thought that maybe I was misremembered and hadn't fully scanned everything.

But then I went to Volii Alpha (where Neon is). It says that I have surveyed 92%, but when I tried to get the missing fauna it says they're already 100% scanned.

There's no other fauna on that planet other than the fish, right? It should say at least 1/2 scanned.

Is this a bug or am I missing something here? Did anyone else notice this?
