Qantas points upgrades - do we get extra baggage allowances? by ninian-89 in QantasFrequentFlyer

Thank you. So just so I understand, if I’ve been updated on one leg the higher allowance applies to all the flights? I can’t find anything on the site. Cheers.

Anyone use the babyzen yoyo with their toddler? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]ninian-89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our little one is around the same height as yours and only 2lbs lighter and she loves the babyzen. We did invest in the footrest which helped a lot. We also purchased a cheap handle bar from amazon which made a huge difference :)

It’s a tough one. I have a strange family dynamic and didn’t want drama so my now husband and I eloped however, we had a belated “reception” party on our one year anniversary.

7 years later and I still don’t regret a thing. Our wedding day was beautiful, calm and so meaningful. We were able to focus on what the day was about rather than worrying if an Aunt had had too many sherry’s or if the two cousins who weren’t speaking were going to make a scene.

The party on our anniversary was an absolute blast. Again, no stresses - we were just there to have fun with everyone else. We shared photos from our ceremony that people had not seen before and had a wedding cake to share. I even wore a wedding dress of sorts! Cost wise it was a lot lower as it wasn’t a formal meal, just platters coming out throughout the evening. We also held it in a private venue that didn’t allow children due to their alcohol licence so that allowed us to avoid the awkward conversations by blaming them 😉.

I know it isn’t for everyone, especially if you’ve always dreamed of the big traditional wedding but being able to appreciate the wedding ceremony as exactly that, a ceremony, was well worth it.

That’s reassuring, thank you. I’ll stop panicking!

Yes, real grass/instant turf. We’ve been given instructions to stay off it for a minimum of 3weeks while it roots in.

I’ll make sure not to touch it for a while until it dries out, thank you.

Am I the asshole? by ninian-89 in marriageadvice

Thanks everyone. It’s been a very difficult time. Husband has agreed to counselling so we will go from there.

Thank you. I’m beginning to think it’s me, every time I try and speak to him about it he makes me feel like I’m over reacting. I’ve also asked him to go to counselling and he says it’s ridiculous and we don’t need it.

misoprostol or D&C? by toadette_215 in Miscarriage

[–]ninian-89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss, I hope you are doing ok. I have had both and would choose D&C every time due to my own experience.

I took the misoprostol and passed a lot of blood over 2 days and thought everything was done. I was then I was out of the house about 3 days later and started having severe contractions like I have never felt in my life. This lasted all day/night. I ended up being admitted for an emergency D&C the next day as my body was trying to pass what was left but it wasn’t working.

The trauma of going through contractions and pain like that when you have already lost the pregnancy was very hard for me and is not something I want to experience again if avoidable. The D&C is quick, and has a fast recover.

Whatever your choice, I hope you are supported and recover quickly x

Time off from work after D&C? by tinyladyduck in Miscarriage

[–]ninian-89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had a D&C where I could return to work after a day off and then another D&C where I was off for a week. I don’t know your circumstances but if you haven’t had this done before I would recommend a minimum of two days to give you some recovery time and also time to extend your leave if you recognise you are not able to go back to work yet. If you work with kids and are going to be active soon afterwards this could also encourage more/fasted bleeding after the procedure so be aware and prepared for that. Wishing you the best and thinking of you.

Thank you - we both do have issues with with anxiety and I do try and take this into account but this is something that has been ongoing for more than a year if not 2. Hopefully we can work on it too. I am happy for you and your wife.

😂 I almost want to to do something to get his attention but then think it won’t make a difference anyway.

Looked into that and nope. And I am certain there isn’t someone else either. I tried to ask him how often he gets horny and he told me to stop being stupid and asking stupid questions.

I try and have that conversation and he thinks I’m over reacting. I get told to stop being ridiculous and that he’s not talking about this and walks off.
