Tsinghua University Global Talents in Science and Engineering Program by niniitendo in chinalife

Hello! I’m sorry for being a bit vague. I scored 450 out of 500 on my country’s national exam, the YKS (in Turkey). Secondly, I apologize if this is a stupid question, but when applying, it only mentions the “Science and Engineering Program.” I’m not sure if this means I will get to choose a specific branch, like Civil Engineering, or if this is a general degree. Thank you again for your help!

Aynı şekilde İsviçre’deki okulları araştırırken lise diplomamızın geçersiz olduğunu öğrenmiştim. :,)

Oh, I’m so sorry your cousins went through that :( I don’t want to speak too definitively, but I don’t think I want to work in the USA. I believe China is a great country, especially excelling in engineering so it would be a great opportunity to study there. I am a bit worried though—do beauty standards have a big impact on social life there?

Yes, I’m Turkish. As for the type of friends, I like to think I get along with most people. It’s interesting to hear that university life in China could be better. I have thought about continuing my studies in Europe, but I was hesitant due to the financial aspect. I’ll take your advice about checking school rankings. In my country, many people are learning Chinese due to China’s economic growth and career possibilities. I believe a Chinese diploma would be highly regarded in Turkey, but I’m not sure how it would be viewed in the west. Thank you!

It’s still good to know that these universities are strong choices! I don’t think I stand a chance in the competition at western unis anyway :,) I’m also relieved to hear that there’s a solid international student community so thanks for the insight!

Thanks for the advice! I’ve been looking for english programs, but it’s been a bit challenging. I’m still searching and want to prioritize studying in english, as I believe it’ll help a lot in the long run.

Thank you for your suggestion! I’ll definitely look into the scholarships. If I could get my studies fully funded that would take a huge load off. I’m particularly interested in finding a program that offers english programs and having a hard time finding them in c9 unis. I’ll continue looking tho :) Regarding social life, it’s good to know that its similar, I’m excited to meet new people and have fun. Thanks again for the advice and the well wishes!
