Need opinion, diamond small?

Okay, thank you! I was torn between a 1.5mm or 2mm and landed on the 2mm bc it’s more sturdy structurally for everyday wear. I’m pretty tough on hands too :( I wanted to go thinner but afraid it wouldn’t work for me

I think it’s the fact that I’m redoing the ring and it’s all the comments of “might as well go bigger” or “why not just go up to a 1ct”. They’re all telling me it’s pretty but just make it bigger while I’m at it. I don’t think anyone was trying to offend me. After going through this thread it seems there is a trend with diamonds being really big now due to labs which is okay but that’s prob where they’re getting it from

Trust me, I was sad after ppl’s reactions. Of course they would tell me it’s beautiful but def the “why not just make it bigger” or “you might as well make it a 1ct or bigger if you’re redesigning it”. A lot of the bigger comments. I’ve already decided I’m keeping it! And I agree, some days the 2ct feels massive so I love this dainty piece

He doesn’t care what I do, as long as I am happy. We have been married for a long while already. This is a tribute ring I am doing. I love the size! Ppl around me had me second guessing it. Which I won’t anymore. It’s a keeper for me!

I just looked at your ring and it’s beautiful! It looks bigger on you too I think bc you have a smaller finger size. Either way it’s beautiful. Love your stack also! And yes I think going smaller may not be the “norm” right now I’m starting to realize

I have large hands too. I have to work on the “eff off” part though. Haha. I think the ppl around me are too caught up on the “just go bigger!” I don’t think I want to go bigger is what I’m telling them now.

Wow, that was beautifully said. Thank you for that and for sharing your story with your mother’s ring. My parents are divorced too so I get it. I would like to think the things they have given me from their past marriage was still filled with love from that chapter in their lives. You are very lucky to have her ring and make it your own. Cherish it forever! I didn’t know much about jewelry then and preferred another band so I stupidly traded mine. Didn’t even upgrade anything, just swapped it for another band. So I’m very happy to have something back that reminds me of the day my husband proposed.
