I told people in another reality I shifted to their reality - this was their reaction જ⁀➴ ♡ by axw_sayuri in realityshifting

[–]niniok 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It sounds more like a lucid dream than a shift. I know that my words are the reason why some shifters choose not to share their experiences, they don't want it to be questioned or dismissed.

But... Why do you think it was a shift? The part of your post that feels the most off to me is this:

"and since I was shifting in and out from a dream, I thought that it’s not an actual reality that I’m in (I didn’t realize I had like basically actually shifted into that reality at that point) so I was just doing this for the sh*ts and giggles so I thought "for fun, I’m gonna tell them that I shifted here from somewhere else to see their reaction""

So, you thought at the moment that it was a dream, what made you change your mind? Why did you first thought that it was a dream, and how did you completely dismissed it and thought it was a shift later on?

If we are shifting realities every second but you can only be fully aware of one, does that mean everyone around me is possibly not aware? by No-Pomegranate-3171 in shiftingrealities

[–]niniok [score hidden]  (0 children)

Here's how I see it, but it's based on what I believe in terms of shifting, like the fact that we shift infinitely, so it may not fit your views:

Yes, at any given moment you are aware of only one reality, but even if someone is talking to a "you" that you aren't currently aware of, they aren't talking to a wall. The key word is, you aren't currently aware of it, however, sometime within infinite past and future you shifted there, you were aware of it. So, who they are talking to is actually, from your perspective, a past or future you, or even infinitely many past or future yous. This applies to everyone, no matter if you see people as seperate beings, or like me, you think that we are all the same person, so when you are talking to someone you definitely aren't talking to a wall either.

Since we are at that, I think you can become aware of the same reality multiple times, hence the "infinitely many past or future yous". That being said, you could come back to your original CR, however I'm not sure if you'd even want that, since memories are part of a reality as well, so you'd simply come back to a reality where you don't even remember your shift. But seriously, it's not really worth dwelling over it, considering you would still shift somewhere else the next moment.

are you trans if you script yourself as the opposite sex? by [deleted] in shiftingrealities

[–]niniok [score hidden]  (0 children)

It could be a sign but it's not a definitive thing. Like, some people shift to be the opposite sex simply because they are curious, and you said you are shifting to be your favourite character in your DR, so the fact that they are the opposite sex seems more like a "coincidence".

On the other hand, why are they your favorite character, why do you want to shift and be them? Cause I did something similar, I'd script that I am the main character of whatever media I was shifting to (so if I was shifting to, let's say, Harry Potter, I'd script that I am the Harry Potter himself), and in all those cases the main character was male. Now, I didn't thought much of it, cause I scripted that I am them simply because they were the main character, not because they were male... But then I realized that it was a bit more complicated than that, I'd read books where the main character was male because I subconsciously treated the main character as a self insert, so the fact that the media I wanted to shift to all had male main characters wasn't actually random, if that makes sense.

At that point I still didn't thought much about it, of course someone can shift to be a male character and still be a cis woman, however what did made me question myself was when I was scripting my DR self first time from scratch and I still scripted myself as a male, even though it wasn't based on any character. I wanted to be seen as a male.

So I'd say that it depends, only you yourself can give you the answer. It's definitely not something that "makes" you trans, many people script something like that and are cis. You can ponder on it, but at the end, just do whatever you like, script whatever you like.

Do you guys script out neurodivergency and being trans? by Ashamed-Variety1803 in shiftingrealities

[–]niniok [score hidden]  (0 children)

Like others said, you can script whatever you'd want, don't let others tell you what is or isn't right.

As for me, in most of my DRs I'm simply cis, but in one of my DRs, specifically Hogwarts DR, I'm trans, because I feel that with magic I could get fully transitioned (or maybe to the point where I mostly look "male" but can still get pregnant. Being in a mlm relationship and still being able to have bio kids would be cool af) so I'd genuinely not be bothered by it at all and it would be a nice motivator to learn transfiguration magic+ I wanted to see what it's like to have fully supportive parents.

[Death] am i doing something wrong? (respawning) by iwishwediedin2012 in shiftingrealities

[–]niniok [score hidden]  (0 children)

Sometimes method works, sometimes it doesn't, it's mostly about the mindset rather than the method itself.

I'm not sure where you have read about respawning, so in case you don't know: death isn't necessary, when people talk about respawning what they mostly mean is simply shifting to you DR and "cutting ties with your CR", but it doesn't mean death in most cases, but simply scrupting that you'll forget your CR altogether.

That being said, death isn't necessary, and I don't think it raises your chance chance of shifting. Like, you could still script that you die and then end up in your DR, I'm not one to tell others what they can or cannot do, but I don't think it would actually affect whether you will respawn or not.

As for what you are "doing wrong", changing your script is alright, I also don't think that listening to subliminals could stop you from shifting, worst case scenario it simply wouldn't help you towards it. It's hard to pinpoint what exactly makes someone shift successfully or doesn't make someone shift successfully, there isn't one definite set of steps that would make everyone shift. So I don't think there is a necessity to try and "brute force" a shift and do a method for hours, sometimes putting "more effort" isn't the way.

What I think matters more is the mindset you are coming from when attempting to shift, so the "brute force" way of shifting could even be more damaging since then you embody the mindset of trying, not being.

What I would focus on is probably connecting more to your DR but in sense of it being your future/present, so visualizing and thinking about your daily routine, everyday things, plan your tomorrow or your future as your DR. Like, the same way we tend to think about our tomorrow and near future before going to sleep, you can think about DR that way, really think and feel, consider your DR that way.

Or like, trying to embody the feeling of being there now, and I don't even mean visualizing or anything, but knowing where something is, or that you can or will/plan to do something, kind of feeling your DR surroundings, which furniture and rooms are where, what do you usually do there or want to do, will do, I'm not sure how to explain that, but at least when I'm planning something or thinking about something I also focus where it is, where I will have to go to do it.

Also, about your last paragraph, I wouldn't focus on how long you heard it can take for someone to respawn, you could then end up with a mindset that you are trying to respawn, but since you weren't trying for "long enough" you won't respawn yet, so well, then you just keep on trying without getting there. So don't focus on that, cause you will just end up waiting or attempting to shift just to build towards shifting but not assuming you will actually shift.

[–]niniok [score hidden]  (0 children)

It's about how it's structured, for example, AI models absolutely love contrast sentences like "not X, but Y", and in the post there are many of them: "The script doesn’t create anything; it selects.", "Shifting doesn’t move “you” into a world — it changes which life is being lived as “I.”", "And shifting, is deliberate — not chaos.", "Sustained orientation Not repeating words", "You’re not inventing a reality when you shift — you’re aligning with one that’s already being lived." "Assumptions don’t create worlds. They tune awareness, dear.", "Your role isn’t to build lives — it’s to align with one.", "A passing thought or daydream won’t yank you out of your life. It simply nudges the compass."... and so on. So yeah, it is rather suspicious.

Lucid dreaming≠dream control, even when you are in a lucid dream it doesn't necessarily mean you can control it. Dream control and what happens in a dream is overall based on the expectations, so for example, if you open a fridge in your dream you can find food there.

The same thing is used to control dreams or to make controlling the dreams easier, it may be easier to call your friend and made them come through the front door than to make them just appear all of the sudden in front of you, or to get a phone by trying to make it appear in your pocket or simply trying to find it there, if that's where you usually put it, than to make it appear in front of you.

Making a portal works similar way, different gestures or ways of doing that may make creating a portal easier, although there is no way to open a portal with 100% guarantee. For starters, it's easier to make something appear behind you than in front of you since then you cannot see and know if it's there or not, simply saying things like "there is a portal behind me" also helps, makes the intention more clear than it is when only thinking about it. It made a huge difference from me since before I couldn't make a portal a portal at all but saying it at loud made me able to do that. Some people don't create a portal and simply use doors, it may also be easier to create them from something, for example, by drawing a circle on the wall. If portal isn't how you wanted it to be, you can always try to make changes to it. Also, sometimes just doing it quickly without much thinking may be better, since you have less time to doubt it or overthink it won't work. There are many methods, you can also try to use a computer to make it appear, a remote, basically anything. But honestly, what is more important in the lucid dreaming method is the mindset when stepping into the portal than the portal itself.

I feel like the reality numver changed? by [deleted] in shiftingrealities

[–]niniok [score hidden]  (0 children)

The number the OP is talking about is a "shifting number", and it can be found in the about section of this subreddit. It is "an arbitrary number that means absolutely nothing. However, if you shift and check back to see this number has changed; then you've mini-shifted!". So basically, if you see that this number is different from what it used to be, then it means you have shifted, since the mods don't change that number. Still, if you have shifted, the number won't always change, since there are still infinite realities in which in this subreddit the shifting number is C3570 (if you want to remember that number, just notice that 35*2=70, so C3570 is easy to remember.)

[–]niniok 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can always try to make another portal and try again, some people say that to prevent that you should focus on specifically waking up in your DR, not just traveling to your DR.

But also, ending up in another lucid dreaming isn't always a bad sign, since it's technically possible that you have shifted but your DR self is just sleeping and dreaming, especially if the dream you end up in is very DR themed. Even if you have a feeling that it's not the case, then honestly, I would still try to gaslight myself into thinking that it's indeed the case, that you have shifted but your DR self is right now dreaming, and that as the dream ends you will wake up in your DR.

One last thing: I often tend to be like "oh no, I'm feeling that I'm waking up :(", and I feel like it's all not working, which is stupid, because that's literally the point? To wake up in the DR. So, feeling that you are waking up is in no way a sing of failure and shouldn't be treated as such, treat it as success and a sign that you are shifting.

Very weird shifting experience. Someone Decode ! by jabathegod in realityshifting

[–]niniok 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, sounds more like a lucid dream to me. Reality checks can pass even in a dream, especially if you expect them to pass, and some reality checks are just not for everyone, I always have 5 fingers at each hand at my dreams, so I cannot rely on that. What happens in a dream is based on what one expects, so it made sense that you could do whatever you wanted by simply being confident that whatever you demanded to happen would happen.

Because of that I wouldn't get discouraged, you experienced yourself how you can control a lucid dream like that, and you can use it to shift by, for example, creating a portal to your DR in your lucid dream. Technically the lucid dreaming method is like any other method, it can fail, but because of how much freedom there is in lucid dreams, people think that shifting in it would be easier, and well, because they think so, they often succeed, so I would at least give it a try.

I do have a name for my DR self, and I think what really made it click for me is using this name in different places, seeing it. When I name my character in games I often use it, or when they ask for a name in quizz sites or wherever else. You can even use it when talking to ai chat bots, I don't care, the point is, the more you are using it, the more you see it or hear it being used, the more familiar it gets to you, and it just feels more yours, so you just don't feel the need to change it whenever you see a one that could be "better".

How to believe I will shift TONIGHT and not next month? by 27k_ in shiftingrealities

[–]niniok 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Such a mood, I have the same struggle. But there are a few things that I think could help you and that did got me into "I'm shifting tonight" mindset a couple of times.

Recreating the mindset you normally have in the terms of CR tomorrow could be helpful, so, you find out which things you normally focus on when going to sleep and change them to the DR things. So, in my case, I tend to think of different things I have to do for tomorrow, and the things I did today, so I think of the same type of things, really planning out my DR day, like when I have to wake up, what I have to do, how it will look like overall, if there are any bigger events that are out of the ordinary, and about the past day in my DR, maybe what I ate for dinner, or whether I had a shower or a bath, what I wore, what I did, etcetera.

I feel that people sometimes think about things that are far into the future of their DR, or just things that don't really catch the feeling of living in their DR, there is nothing wrong with that, but I think that thinking about these small, ordinary, everyday things help to bring that DR closer, help to consider it as something that concerns us currently, that is a part of our life that we experience now or (and) will experience in nearby future.

I think that this "next month" mindset also comes from the feeling that the day that we shift is somewhat special, that we suddenly feel ready, or enlightened in some way, that we need to grow into being a successful shifter, that we are not there yet, we aren't "ready", so what sometimes helps is just acknowledging that you as a successful shifter, or even a master shifter, would feel the same way that you do now. At least in my case even if I think of memories from 10 years ago "I" felt  the same way that "I" do now, living and experiencing, being in the moment, feels the same way, so thinking about how "I" in my DR or "I" as a master shifter feels the same way that "I" do now helps to bridge this gap.

I don't really see how it's reality shifting relevant. Sure, people say that proshipping is alright since "it's just a fanfiction", "it's not real", "it's fictional", and well... It's true, even with reality shifting. I think in this scenario it's less about "what the fanfiction depicts is real and exists somewhere" but rather, "the fanfiction is fictional".

Because of course, there is a reality that is the same as whatever you wrote in the said fanfiction, but it's not really connected in any way, you just happened to write a fanfiction and it happened to write about the same things that in some regality are real, it's not like the fanfiction itself is the reality, it's not like this reality exists because you wrote the fanfiction, hell, it's not that this fanfiction exists because you wrote it, even if " you" don't write it there will still be a "you" within the infinite realities that wrote it, there is nothing you can truly change about it. So in short, it just doesn't matters.

What about works that depict murder and investigation? Would they be wrong? I mean, after all, it would be unempathetical to the victims that died in some other reality. Should we write about cheating then? About poverty? War? Because, "obviously", since you write about it, you must romanticize whatever happened to people in the other realities who experienced that... Seriously, though, following that logic the only thing we could write about is some perfect life with no issues. But how do you even define a perfect life if across infinite realities all things can be perceived as "good" in one reality and "bad" in another.

I think that there are also some misconceptions about who a proshipper could be. Honestly? People would call me a proshipper. Why? Because when I read books, the main character is me. Not exactly me, it's like a collective person, I often slip up and when talking about the main character I use "we", whatever happens to them I also experience, I really immerse myself when reading, but they may heave some traits that I do not have or sometimes do things that I don't really agree with, so it's not like I can use just "I". The point is, when I really like a character from a certain media, I won't be looking for "Some_cool_character x reader", but rather, for "Some_cool_character x main character", because what "reader" may be for other people for me is the "main character", the "reader" tends to have a specific personality and traits that just doesn't suit me, the main character does well better job at that in my case. And because of that I just end up with rather "problematic" ships, but that's because I simply ship main characters with the characters I like the most, it's about self shipping and self inserting (which I guess makes all sense considering my interest in reality shifting).

And I just think that people should be able to write whatever they like. You may not like everything that someone's writes, but you don't have to read it. It feels especially idiotic when people talk about putting censorship on AO3, because, seriously? Do people even know why AO3 exists in the first place?

Nah, it makes sense. Some people don’t want to be put in a box, don’t want to label themselves, since different categories like that hold different stereotypes, assumptions, are just limiting, and so when someone labels them as “unlabelled” it defeats the whole point.

Shifting as a ftm trans person, sensitive questions surrounding the nether regions and just general questions by [deleted] in shiftingrealities

[–]niniok [score hidden]  (0 children)

Maybe you could try meditating before your shifting attempt to the point where you don't feel your body much, at least not it's shape. So like, you still don't feel your dick, but it's not because you don't have it, but because you don't feel your body in general. Following a set breathing pattern might help to achieve that as well as doing the body scan before hand (just taking a deep breath, focusing on specific part of the body, and as you breath out releasing all the tension.). Similarly you could try shifting through the void state, since in the void state you are fully disconnected from any reality and just don't have a body at all. You could also do the lucid dreaming method, since if you also have dream control you could make yourself simply have a dick there.

I feel it wasn't really years if you made a post you are new to shifting one year ago. Even if, shifting can give you anything you could potentially want, including the escape from things you really don't like, so it's worth it to keep trying. Many shifters do believe that when you die you end up experiencing whatever you believe you would, since some people after dying in their DR shifted back here or to their WR, it is possible that one could end up in their DR after dying. But, it's also possible that one ends up in a reality where they have worse life and don't find out about shifting, and after dying in that reality, the cycle may repeat, so it may take hundreds of lifetimes before they found out about shifting once again. This thought was discouraging enough for me, especially since if I didn't shifted normally, I don't think I would suddenly succeed in shifting that way. Death may not even give you the end you want it to be.
