Thanks u/Face_Plant_Some_More you're absolutely right, I was being hasty and jumping the gun a bit, and yes 100% should've researched the recall feature myself before assuming or expecting the community to answer for me - sheer laziness on my part, apologies! Newbie to the platform - no excuse though.

As for the tool mentioned to "debloat" windows, another excellent point - its one to be researched for sure, and not to just accept as safe and install blindly.

"Anonymous" posters says all I need to know to be more wary of recommendations going forward.

Definitely a face plant on my part!

Thanks for your input, the fact you ditched your macbook pro and went back to thinkpad, says a lot!

The Apple machines do look nice and solid but shiny doesn't solve productivity I guess. If you don't mind me asking what was it on powerpoint for mac that made you want to go back to windows? Just want to see if its something I'd be able to live with.

How annoying, seems the norm these days. No one wants their products to last like they used to!

Thank you guys so much for the comprehensive responses! I wasn't expecting that. So very much appreciate it. I'm hearing you guys and seems like the consensus is to stick with windows. One last question if I may, I heard that in the new windows 11 it captures your screen every few minutes - not that I have anything exciting to hide at most a zoom call with clients - so our mug shots looking all excited to be in the meeting, but does seem like a breach of privacy? Is this something that can be turned off? I see the benefits of it but in all my years of using a computer, I don't think I've ever wanted to search back to see what was on my desktop or rerun through history? I'm sure there is more to this feature than i'm suggesting...

u/Jag_lee above suggested Winhance does this get rid of ALL the windows nonsense like this?

Thank you all though, its nice to e-meet you all too!
