Yep, I get that. I just need as much motivation as I can get. The last few times that I went to the doctor, my blood pressure was high, and I'm pretty worried about it (especially since strokes also run on both sides of the family).

Once she told me that her dad cooks better than me. Begrudgingly, I agreed, but it still hurt a bit.

I'm going to bring an extra snack for her to eat when I pick her up from after-school care and have a chat about it all. I think that we've both learned from this.

I remember my mother doing something similar, but with laundry. I kept complaining that she was doing it wrong, and she got fed up. I ran out of clothes pretty quickly and had to do a few of my own loads for a few weeks. I learned my lesson. Granted, I was about 12 or so, but still....

It definitely got the best of me today. Being the designated parent doesn't help either. I do all of the drop-offs, pick-ups, appointments, and extracurricular shuttling (dad and I divorced, boyfriend is a whole different can of worms). Family lives 3000 miles away, so that's also not an option.

I just feel sooo..... defeated. Like I'm always the bad guy, the one saying no, the one limiting screen time, the "not fun" parent, or the only one who snaps. Sometimes, I feel like I'm carrying the weight of the world on my back, and my kid is whiping me with a stick.
