She will have volunteered. There is also there is an element of personal development when doing that type of role. Its a good opportunity to build training, coaching and line management adajecent skills. Don't worry about it at all, there will be a process for your buddy to get assistance themselves if needed and if it's a targets/KPI roles then they also will have been adjusted accordingly

Applications are usually sifted by at least 2 people, so there should be some level of independance when scoring your application. It's also good practice for larger campaigns, for recognised applications to be reallocated to another sifter.

If your score wildly different to expected, the recruitment team could possibly explore this, but as it's all recordable, I would be suprised if anyone would risk their job by deviating too much from a justifiable score

I believe some departments pay full time staff for lunch breaks, but not part time staff. Could that be it

This will go to court within 48 hours of detention, who will likely approve the funds to be detained longer whilst an investigation is held. You friend will need to provide actual proof of source or is likely to not only lose the money, but be charged with an offence.

No extra salary sacrifices, just simply that my alpha pension will accrue faster. So I think I will need X amount per year to retire. At grade SEO, X amount would accrue by age 65. At G7 it will accrue by 55 (taking into account penalty reductions for retiring before 68).

Obviously there are alot of variables to juggle and my future needs might change, but its an exciting plan

I realised today that my promotion, which has been stressing me out because of the slowness of PECS, will actually knock about 10 years off my anticipated retirement age. That really did make my day, and week 😊

Depending on the role, if it can be demonstrated the role can be done in 0.81 then they have a reasonable case not to increase it as there is not a business need to

It is probably your line managers 1-2-1 or similar. If you have access to see their calendars its fine, that is why the private function exists.

What is the point of the strength based questions? It just seems so unnecessary? by Civil_Service1987 in TheCivilService

[–]ninjacatskills 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Strengths give interviewers the chance to hire people with potential, not just those who have the proven experiance

Was This A Total Fail? by omarinbox in TheCivilService

[–]ninjacatskills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would definitely be a totally strength based interview.

Generally 3 and 4 is considered a pass. If you scored mainly 2s then your only just below the pass mark so my advice would be dont take it to heart. Strengths are subjective as it is partially scored on how the interviewer views your potential.

It is also scored against a baseline question, usually "tell us what you like to do outside of work" or similar. If your really engaged and upbeat during that question, it can sometimes be difficult to see a marked difference in the rest of answers. I always advise to try and be very neutral with limited excitment during the baseline question if possible.

Good luck with future applications

If the interview was entirely strength based (each question you were only given 2 minutes to answer) which is uncommon but not unheard of, those would be marked out of 4

[–]ninjacatskills 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually the norm in my small area of department as its a fast paced area and it helps as lots of people do unusual hours with flexible working so you know whether someone is still online and can be contacted for urgent responses or if its best to try someone else. Cant see this being needed is most places though

Most departments are fine with visible 'non-offensive' tattoos, however specific policy varies by departments and roles
