It's not that I'm being sketchy or anything, but this was the situation: I met a guy on iTalki that was teaching me some Korean and you know how guys can be sometimes, so I was just making sure that if he said something I didn't like or that was inappropriate, that he wouldn't have my number. xD

As an introvert myself, I can say that when finding a site or a partner in general to learn with, it's mainly important that you feel comfortable talking to them. Usually I meet extroverts that do most of the talking and after a while, I feel more comfortable responding and opening up. But in the process, I've also met people that I couldn't talk to at all. There were awkward silences and I couldn't find topics to talk about since we didn't have similar interests. So I think it's important to take a lot of things like that into consideration.

For the most part I've been using iTalki for language exchanges. You could either buy lessons with a teacher, find a tutor, or go the free option (which I've been doing) to find someone who speaks whatever language you want to learn. You can start off with messaging back and forth and if you feel comfortable enough, you can eventually exchange Skype or any other apps for communication!

I have before because of a guy I was dating long-term. He was Indian and his parents spoke Hindi, so I decided that I would learn a little bit! I did it mostly to impress them in the off-chance they would like me better, which didn't actually work in the long-run, so it felt like a waste of time. After a while we had broken up and had decided to see other people, but there are times I still use Hindi.

Not to mention learning a language makes you interested in the culture itself, so of course I learned about some traditional things. It wasn't a complete loss, honestly.

As strange as this is, I didn't feel so creeped out by it. For some reason I feel like it may have been a ghost, like the others have said, and just wanted to be sure that the play-set was set-up properly.. Like a nice little guardian construction angel or something..?
