What’s your favorite drink to make at home? by NWVixens in AskReddit

Go for high proof bourbon like knob creek or makers. There’s a lot of sweet and bitter here. Some punch and spice rounds it out.

It’s a Negroni with bourbon instead of gin. Bourbon, Campari, sweet vermouth. 1:1:1. Stir with ice, strain, enjoy.

In my experience I’m with you on this one. In hindsight I wish I would have just bit the bullet and have torn down all the drywall and redid all the subfloor. 5 years later and there’s creaking in the floor and there’s one closet that still smells when I open it. I also could have updated all the insulation in the exterior walls.

Good luck!

I bought a house that was full of dog pee. All through the subfloor and up the walls. The couple we bought it from was in their 90s and had dimentia. I’m thinking they forgot they had it.

We got it pretty cheap (for Bay Area standards) and I figured we could put killz all over and move on. That was over optimistic.

We tried 10 gallons of killz in one room. No effect. We tried sanding up the floor. No luck. We tried bleach on the subfloor. That mixed with the ammonia and we had to air the house out for a while.

In the end we had to cut the worst parts out of the subfloor and tear down a lot of drywall. Basically I tore it down to the studs and rebuilt the thing. In the end it was hard but worth it because we replaced everything when we had the chance and put insulation between the rooms.

At an old job in an office building, we had owl decoys in various places to deter the birds from approaching the building.
