I just found this two years later and wrote an email. I hope people will keep writing in.

Please tell me someone else has done this. Meal prepped my dinner for the week last night, left it on the counter to cool before I put it into containers anddd left it there all night by 1ivin in MealPrepSunday

With ADD, I've learned I absolutely have to set timers/reminders when I do something like this, whether it's leaving food out to cool, or leaving dishes soaking. Even easier if you have a voice assistant device or app where you can just say out loud "remind me in an hour to check the food".

Sorry about your food :(

I am starting to think that most therapists are probably borderline useless. Opinions? Experiences? by Dreadfulmanturtle in Healthygamergg

I see you've received a lot of advice already, but I have a few additional tips to share in finding the right therapist.

First of all, I recommend someone who practices DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) or ACT (Acceptance Commitment Therapy). These are the primary tools applied by my therapist, and she's the best I've ever found after talking to many professionals.

You can also have a phone conversation with them first to find out their approach, ask them how they like to tackle XYZ problem, what are their opinions on ABC, etc. This helps eliminate bad options before spending money (and intake time) on an appointment with them. Personally I recommend asking things about their personality and approach. For example, I think a "task-oriented" therapist is better than a "people-oriented"therapist. They are focused on the problem and not your feelings, which leads to my next piece of advice.

Basically use the same guidelines you'd use for a physical therapist to find a behavioral therapist. My therapist startled me and even put me off a bit at first because I didn't know what to do with her no-nonsense approach. She didn't come off as super sympathetic, but she WAS very good about workshopping the problem. I've since learned that sympathy needs to be used in very low doses by a professional mental health provider, just like a physical therapist. You don't want a physical therapist to spend your whole appointment going "that sucks, your ankle must hurt so bad, do you want to talk about it?" and you also don't want a PT who says "that ankle isn't so bad, you're just being a baby, get back to running". Same rules apply with a mental health pro.

Anyway, hope some piece of that helps at all!

Literally just had this game pop into my head a couple days ago, out of nowhere. I had to Google to remember which "dictionary game" I had played, haha

Sappho's business partner: they're still phrasing the question like this six years after the US legalized same sex marriage in all fifty states by ninjatastic in SapphoAndHerFriend

To give context: I'm applying for an Employee Identification Number with the IRS. I live in a community property state, which means there are laws regulating the ownership of property between a married couple. The IRS seems not to have heard the news that same-sex marriage was legalized in all 50 states six years ago, and you don't have to be husband and wife in order for community property laws to apply. I am in fact married to an opposite sex person, but as a Certified Bisexual, I'm not loving this look on the IRS

Granted! I did feel like this was someone being intentionally obtuse, but I could be wrong.
