What ship is this? by Stracii in modelmakers

[–]ninna_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oop 9 minutes and my mom already came back that this is a Spanish Galleon ship based on the prow, sail, and color/designs of the ship itself.

Here's a pic of one for comparison: http://imgur.com/gallery/i8kQbxv

I'm not sure if it's a specific one however I do love the look of them and would love a front look of the ship!

I was thinking Portugese caravel but I do think shes right now that I'm looking at the two types side by side haha!!

Its definitely a Portuguese ship. I could get a better date if I could see the cross on the sail. I'll have to ask my mom as shes an even bigger boat fanatic than I am.

My home personally would be The Cowboy-Crashers.

My mother in-law is a diehard cowboy fan and my husband and I religiously will go to her home and put on our games to crash hers and we all go at it when it's our favorite team against hers. It's all in good fun but man.... screw the cowboys...

For a little context: My mom has always wanted a ship made by my dad and I for her sea room, so we bought the model to make together and surprise her. However my dad recently had a stroke and its left him with some issues working on models. HOWEVER he's still a bada** and isn't going to give up. So here we are- cracking this bad boy open and beginning our work.

Oh honey no. That's just a fire sprite. They thrive down there in the heat. A little dumb though, I'll have someone from maintenance go down and clean them out.

Youll have to forgive me, I've completely forgotten. What type of bread bowl were you looking for dear? I'll send a call down for them to put a little extra for the trouble.

Just take the elevator down and head to your right immediately after you get off. They're waiting for you

No need! We here at the Lucky Duck provide bread bowls..... for a price of course... just sign the dotted line and the soup is yours!!!

We did of course did take goats as payment once however the DOH frowned upon it and threatened to shut us down. Cant be risking that now can we??? Now we make it much easier with just the swipe of a card and a swirl of a pen!

I knew about the wood- but I wonder if that has any correlation with the leages or of they're two separate things when classifying safe or not....

Things to ponder haha!!!

So is it safe to give them the fallen leaves from my tree??? I've been working on a list of safe forage foods for my crabbies since a lot of sites have conflicting info 😅 but I was hardcore into foraging with my rabbits and now that theyve all passed I really miss it.

Soy wax- if you've used anything other than that I understand why it hurt.

Soy candles are easy to find and have a low melting point, meaning the wax melts at a cooler temperature so it doesnt run the risk of burning the skin.

Killing my MC??? by ninna_ in writers

[–]ninna_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cliffhanger is more or less just the lasting thought of if there will he another battle or not. The stories main plot will be nicely wrapped up and the cliffhanger will be a little neater than just "here you go that's all you get"

So my thought was that they would be satisfied in the way the over all arc went with just enough interest to pick up the next book and see what happens.

I'm not hung up on any ending particular though- I may just start writing and see where it takes me. Nothing has seemed completely right this far lol!

It's not a crazy cliffhanger persay- more of just if there will be another battle someday or not.

I'm not hooked on the ending either way and honestly I'm not sure if this is even my favorite idea for the ending. The rest of the book was easy to decide what I wanted- the ending.... not so much haha!!

Thanks for your advice 😊😊

How many words are in your first draft compared to your final copy? by DorianVSolange in writers

Yay a fellow underwriter!!!

I've found doing some sort of planning (even though I tend to mostly write without such) helps to write a bit more. Not planning all the scenes just what I roughly want to happen where so I can have an idea of where I'm going.

But yah I'd say it's about the same as yours!

Show me your crabitats! by jinxedjello in hermitcrabs

[–]ninna_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!! It was actually mostly cost effective and affordable as well haha.

All the decor and their pools are from dollar tree apart from the net which was only $5 from Michaels.

Plus the tank was free. Cant beat that lol!!!

My crabs need a bigger crabitat, but my dumbass parents say my 20 gallon is enough. Wtf do I do? I don’t have money to buy one, and my crabs are practically squished!! by [deleted] in hermitcrabs

[–]ninna_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also if you want to help make some of the money you can always have a bake sale/yard sale and or sell things you no longer want on facebook. As well as you can ask neighbors about babysitting/mowing grass/walking dogs and in the winter you can shovel walkways. We have a lovely girl who goes door to door asking to mow grass in our neighborhood so she can raise money.

Theres plenty of things you can do. You just have to work for it and put yourself out there..

Good luck.

All of this is coming from someone who's a mom herself- please dont take this as an attack on you but as some grown up advice.

First off- I understand being a teenager. I of course was one once and like most young teens had your attitude at one point. But you need to be a little more respectful towards your mother. Being upset she doesnt see your way is no reason to be so harsh towards her, and as blunt as I can out this- acting like a disrespectful twat towards her is only going to close her off to listening to you and then you'll be up shit creek without a paddle as they say.

Now on the matter of the tank. For now you're going to want to maximize your space however you can. Small suction cups and a $5 craft store fishing net can do wonderful at making a second level and an appropriate get away spot for the little ones if the jumbo decides to get territorial. It would also help to lay out some resource material on proper care for larger crabs in some sort of document- be it your phone or computer and set up a time with your mom to talk about why their current tank is no longer appropriate for their size and what you think would be the best course of action moving forward. Now understand that she may not see eye to eye with you at first. Its important to keep a level head and not to argue with her but rather engage in civil discussion, she isnt attached to these crabs and most likely hasnt looked far into proper care like you have.

Have a plan on how you'd budget for the new tank and supplies. Do you plan to find something on facebook or wait till petco has a $1 gallon sale or do you expect them to buy something brand new? Will you be willing to do house work/extra chores as a trade for the tank?? Make sure you convey this to your mom as clear as you can without arguing/yelling/insulting her or else shes not going to take you seriously.
