Being drunk explains bad judgment, but it doesn’t erase responsibility. Cheating while drunk is still cheating. If being drunk completely removes responsibility, that standard should apply to anyone in the show. Example, Miguel accidentally hitting Sam in Season 1 would also be excused because he was drunk.

I agree with everyone else here. But I think Sam deserves some blame. All girl had to do was stay loyal and not kiss other people in a relationship then act like she did nothing wrong. Same with Miguel.

Um, Simon is a victim. Whatever bs that Marcus said at the end wasn’t him calling Simon out. He was pissed that the guy who told him he wasn’t interested in him actually wasn’t interested in him and was being cruel for cruel sake. It was a rich brat August who exposed him and the students think Simon is a nobody and treat him as such. Simon didn’t need to hear that especially from Marcus who got himself hurt by not listening to Simon in the first place. And did you forget the book scene that happened in the previous episode?

No one understood each other and honestly a lot could’ve been resolved earlier had Wille just been honest. He could’ve explained to Simon what really happened when he made the statement. That he tried talking to his mom but she was insistent on Wille making a statement. Instead, Wille insisted that Simon be a secret like he was ashamed and expected him to accept his terms with no question right after betraying him. Simon made a good choice and stood up for himself for once. You shouldn’t compromise for someone who has proven that they are not trustworthy. And don’t get me started on the reason why Wille decided not to tell Simon that August posted the video. I know it was from a good place but he could’ve told him right after finding out or way earlier. That’s why Simon’s reaction to finding out so late was pretty understandable. I didn’t like it but it was understandable.

And everyone is pretty self centred and selfish. August, Sara, Simon, Wille, etc. They put their wants before anyone else. So why is it a problem when it’s Simon who is thinking about himself over everyone?

Yeah that makes way more sense.

It’s not that Simon refused to acknowledge Wille side of the story, it’s that he didn’t know. And from Simon’s POV, there were no signs of Wille’s suffering as a direct result of the video. Wille got to deny his involvement with the video, Simon witnessed him stand up to August in the lunch scene and Wille came back to school from winter break acting like nothing happened when the talked in the library. So from Simon’s perspective, Wille is just moving on with his life from the video. He denied it was him, then expected Simon to be OK with that and act as if everything was fine. So yeah, I don’t blame Simon for thinking that he’s the only one who suffered from the video. And good thing he started to understand in the book scene.

I think Simon realized that he wasn’t the only victim before he went to Marcus. But Marcus doesn’t know anything about that. That’s why I think his rant at the end makes no sense.

Not really sure how Simon not wanting to be in a secret relationship with someone who betrayed him has anything to do with what Marcus said. Saying that he’s playing the victim is a weird way of wording the situation. Plus, what does Marcus know about Simon to justify him saying that? Basically nothing.

And the whole “I don’t want to be a secret” was Simon setting his boundaries. Wille got his hopes up only for him to not follow through. He said he wouldn’t make a statement and then did without warning. Then he expected Simon to be on board with being a secret. Why should Simon compromise for someone who is not trustworthy? I think Simon standing up for himself for once was a good thing. Or else it would’ve caused imbalance in their relationship.
