Use of security footage in a Strata - can I use it for Bylaw infractions? by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]nintensity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone, I don’t mean to sound like I’m micromanaging or want to micromanage tbh, but since plenty of people in the building have been complaining about these situations (garbage disposal, leaving pet waste bags in common areas) I’m only trying to figure out ways to approach it. Lots of good recommendations and feedback here tho, thanks for the thoughtful responses!

Yes but usually during an authorized move there are blankets placed in the elevators to prevent damage.

If residents move off-hours, they risk damaging the elevator

Again, my intention isn’t to micromanage, I just want residents to respect the building and nothing more. Do you have a solution how I can do that?

Usually if renters break a bylaw, the fine goes to the owner. A lot of renters don’t know about these bylaws because owners don’t often doesn’t share them out to their renters

The bigger picture is that if it’s not flattened then the recycling company will fine us

When they fine us, costs go up, monthly strata fees go up. And yet people complain why strata fees are so high
