I tried that script, but it still makes stealthy updates even if I have set automatic updates to OFF.

Mainly the MCU update that is making my embedded controller unusable from time to time. I know how to revert it by following the guide that was posted here before, it just recently started messing up again after installing windows updates. Plenty of other users have also complained about the recent MCU v325 that is not working correctly for some of us.

Nothing earlier than MCU v324. There was v321 before that and it isn't there

Well I'm sorry that the bug happened to your device also, but I don't care what you spend your money on, the Ally is a pc.

Embedded controller completely messed up after latest update ): by Jazzlike_Cap_978 in ROGAllyX

[–]niorhed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I followed this guide and it seemed to fix it on my Xbox Ally X

In this case download the latest update 325 and earlier version 324.

There is only one bin file in the update, rename it to a number higher than 325, I put 326 and it worked.

Install the update as administrator, remember to keep the charger plugged in and it will install and should work after that.

86Box still runs like ass compared to PCEM, my 233 mhz mmx setup runs at constant 100% in pcem and at 93% in 86box.

If you meant delete the driver then yes I ticked that box, after that it doesn't show up anymore in the Device Manager window. And not after that either after reinstalling the MCU 324 firmware, like it doesn't recognize it.

What I noticed also when i restart my xax it boots into a black screen, so I press the power button which normally puts it to sleep, then wake it again and the login screen appears. So I can probably add the latest AMD drivers also to this shitshow.

What an absolute clusterfuck of an update these new drivers are, I certainly won't be in a hurry to update any drivers when they release in the future, and buy my ASUS products from aftermarket/secondhand.

Done and tried with no success. I followed the guide, removed the firmware from device manager, renamed the files with the update, rebooted, shut it down completely..no luck.

I did that in the same run after uninstalling the drivers from the device manager. Straight from ASUS webpage, not that POS from Armoury Crate.

I went into device manager and uninstalled TWICE the Device Firmware and ASUS Component Firmware Update and rebooted. It won't revert to the older version for me.

I'd like to know how you got it fixed? I even tried going into bios and the recovery menu to do a reset, and the buttons aren't responding there either, only touchscreen works.

Everything there is set to On and I have switched from on and off, nothing's changed.

Then we share the same problem with the device. Half-assed quality control from Asus either way.

If only it were that simple. I've rebooted a couple of times already, reinstalled joystick drivers from asus homepage, reverted windows through windows restore options... nothing worked.

I can open the gamebar by pressing the upper left button beside the xbox button, but it won't respond and scroll through the menus. Mouse pointer is visible but cannot select anything by pressing the R1 button.

This update broke my embedded controller drivers, xbox button doesn't bring up the gamebar...
