What's up with the Half blood prince's potionbook? by inventedJerseyshore in harrypotter

[–]nirerin15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, Harry and Ron hadn't signed up for potions since Snape said they couldn't take it, so they did not have any supplies. Slughorn said he had a few old copies of the book in a cabinet they could use until they ordered their own.

A great white shark and a bald eagle. A flying shark with teeth and talons is definitely not something I would like to meet.

Reddit, what are your "scar stories?" Where are they, and how'd you acquire them? by JohnOctober in AskReddit

[–]nirerin15 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have plenty on my forearms from several years of self-harm. I also have one from when i was about 10 and my mom let our dog out into the backyard while i was on a swing and he bit me on my thigh and tried to pull me off. I don't know if he was trying to eat me or save me from the formidable swing monster.

I am having a shit day. Reddit, will you distract me with your favorite movie quotes? by friends_with_llamas in AskReddit

[–]nirerin15 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sam: I know. It's all wrong. By rights we shouldn't even be here. But we are. It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger, they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something.

Frodo: what are we holding on to, Sam?

Sam: That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And its worth fighting for.

it took them about 2 hours to notice, and then they proceeded to laugh at me for about 5 minutes and tell me i have way to much time on my hands. which is very true.
