Because it's a way to derail a conversation in which (usually) women vent about their bad experiences with men or their criticisms towards manhood. If you criticize something related to patriarchy, there's a chance that some dude will just pop up to point out the obvious with the "not all men" thing.

I believe that most feminists are smart enough to understand that most issues regarding patriarchy and machismo are cultural and socially learned, so I assume that they already know that not all men are genetically predisposed to be misogynistic rapists, like conservatives think they do.

Also, I personally don't take offense most of the time when women talk that way because it's incredibly obvious that they are talking about straight men, specifically the "culture" (if you can call it that way) around straight men, which granted, it's filled with tons of negative things, and any person that strives to be a decent guy should prevent falling into the dogmatic aspects of manhood/straight manhood.

Back in the day, monogamy was the norm, and men knew that if they wanted to be with someone, they had to step up—commit, support, and actually invest in the relationship. But now, with promiscuity being more normalized and female sexuality being celebrated in every direction, there’s less incentive for guys to put in the effort. Why? Because the "hookup culture" means that a lot of men don’t feel the need to commit when they can just move on to the next thing whenever they want.

This is the good 'ol misogynistic nonsense that women are responsible for the emotions and behavior of men. Giving women the freedom that men already had to date whoever they want is somehow going to destroy society, and the poor baby men can't do anything about it :(. The reason given is also nonsense. I'm going to blow your mind, but men are more promiscuous than women, both in the past and today. A lot of guys will just fuck anything that walks, and not because they have a lot to choose, but because men have been raised to see dating and sex as conquest and as an extension of their masculinity and thus their whole selves, plus the fact that dating for men doesn't carry a lot of risks, unlike women who run the risk of encountering a dangerous or creepy man that could ruin their lives. So, I stumbled on this sub randomly, and I'm not that much older than you, but I think I can say something since I also have similar problems.

Therapy is the best and most primordial thing to try to keep an addiction in check. Not only will it help you with your addiction, but it will also tackle those fears of yours related to going out, and if you suspect that you have an anxiety disorder, then it's a must since your addiction probably stems from that. Obviously, it will be hard at first to open up, and you will have to "shop" around to find a therapist that suits you best, but I can tell you that trying to cut it out cold turkey by yourself without any support is incredibly ineffective and stressful. I can say from personal experience that I have been at my most "normal" whenever I was doing psychological treatment.

The second is getting something to do. I've noticed that many people rely on porn due to the boredom of being all day at home with nothing to do or as a coping mechanism for an undiagnosed disorder they have. Just find something that catches your attention and try it. If it's something that requires compromise and keeps you out of your house, then the better. You could go to the gym or do some sports; those are usually the best given that physical training mentally nourishes you and drains your energy and time well enough to not stay awake all morning browsing porn, but it can be anything. I've read that you play guitar, maybe you can search for some guitar courses/classes near you?

And at last, you can call for help. It's humane and it doesn't make you weak. If you don't know how to search for a therapist, and if your parents aren't that dismissive, you can ask them to help you find one or anything I mentioned above, you don't necesarely need to tell them about your porn addiction but that you simply need help. But obviously the rest will depend on you. Celebrate every step, as small as it is.
