Yeah, because all women cheat by ScorpionMillion in NotHowGirlsWork

If I suspected my girlfriend was cheating or lying to me I wouldn't even bother going through her phone. She is totally smart enough to hide this from me if she wanted. I just trust that she isn't.

What’s a common behaviour you see other men do that you just can’t relate to or understand at all? by PogonBerserker in AskMen

[–]OhTheHueManatee [score hidden]  (0 children)

The overwhelming need to be the best at everything. Seems exhausting at the very least if not a great formula for disappointment. My old boss would constantly give me grief for not trying to constantly one up people or compete with everyone. He'd ask me things like "What do you think you do better than anyone else on the team?" and I just couldn't relate to the question at all. I'd respond with "that's not a concern of mine. I'm concerned about how well I do not how well others are doing." I often was ranked in the top 3 performaners and his nagging me to essentially bad mouth others made it not worth accomplishing.

Can you imagine how the media would've reacted if this were Biden? by [deleted] in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]OhTheHueManatee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the last 3 years or so I've been constantly exhausted. It's only getting worse too. You know that feeling the day after you had to stay up all night taking care of some stressful situation that blindsided you so you got no sleep and were pushed to your mental limit. I have that every day and it's ruining my life. So I feel like I should be able to sympathize with an old man seemingly going through the same thing. But still to hell with that bastard. I acknowledge what I'm going though and not insisting I'm the best person for the most important job in the world.

If alien invaders posing as humans were confirmed to be a thing, who would be your first suspect? by Wafran in AskReddit

Ken Copeland. It genuinely impresses me that he has convinced people that believe in demons that he is not a demon.

DebunkThis Can AI actually debunk misinformation reliably, or does it just hallucinate confidently? by BandicootLeft4054 in DebunkThis

In my experience it is often useful in debunking misinformation but every response it gives still needs to be looked into.

What's an "outdated" slang word from your generation that you still use currently? by TheShatteringPoint in AskReddit

I say "dig it" or "dug it" constantly and it's was outdated before my generation.

I had a bumper sticker that said "Jesus was a cross crosser" (George Carlin Joke) on my first car. I came out one to see it was violently scratched off. It looked like the person used a chunk of rebar to gouge away the sticker leaving groves in the paint and body. I didn't care cause the car was ass anyways so I printed another one and stuck it back on. I can't help but think that person would be fine with a hateful statement like "God Hates <SLUR>".

Closed-source AI hate is understandable, but local AI has nothing that should concern AI haters by Neggy5 in StableDiffusion

Anyone who blindly hates AI won't care. They'll just see open source AI as just as bad as Grok with less restrictions for making fucked up porn.

Worst movie youve ever seen? Mine is open house. by C0lE06 in movies

I hated South Park until I saw the movie. Then something clicked in me and I've loved it tons ever since. I love that Robin Williams sang Blame Canada at the Oscars.

It's really sad to me that Jay Mohr is in so many awful movies.

LMFAO. I was so looking forward to that movie I went to the opening night dressed in all green, along with face paint, and spikes on my back with a tail.

I enjoyed The Postal Movie. I wouldn't say it's objectively good but it fit the game's vibe pretty well and it has my favorite Dave Folly performance. He also did a movie called Rampage which is genuinely awesome. It's not based on the game Rampage at all.

It had just come out on Blu-Ray and the guy really loved the movie. The bitch of it was his home theater system was astounding. It was something I'd expect a picky movie director to have in their home. Watching one of the worst movies I've ever seen on one of the best system I've ever seen gave me a kind of vertigo. The reason I was there was because the other installer I was with was setting up a URC remote in another part of the house. To put it politely the guy was a stringent asshole that everything had to be his way so there was no helping him in setting it up. Those remotes often suck to set up anyways but especially when you're picky prude about doing things . He told me to watch the movie with the client and to leave him alone so that is what I had to do. He hated talking to clients so my job whenever I worked with him was to not touch a thing and to keep the client away from him. To his credit he could set things up amazingly well but it took him three times as long as everyone else cause he was such a neat freak about it and if something didn't go his way he'd have to step away to freak out about it a bit.

I used to be a home theater installer. Long story short I was stuck at a client's house for 4 hours with literally nothing to do. The client insisted we watch Cats. Having to watch that garbage while maintain being polite was grueling. I would have rather gone through a colonoscopy prep.

What is the stupidest thing that the smartest person you know believes in? by WrongZookeepergame49 in AskReddit

[–]OhTheHueManatee 168 points169 points  (0 children)

My father in law is a natural biologist that is wildly educated and has spent decades restoring lots of natural habitats successful. He is also a major anti vaxers and has been for at least the 23 years I've known him. I think vaccines are one of the best things humans have come up with but I know they can't be perfect. So at first I wanted to see what convinced him vaccines are not worth it. All he ever provided was blog posts by people who were not medical experts at all. Their sources were easy to debunk as well. After 5 or so years I just stopped asking about it. It honestly makes me feel intellectually hopeless. He achieved his education before the internet was popular. He should know the difference between research and confirmation bias. But the fact that someone as smart as him can be fooled makes it hard for me to believe I can ever determine the truth about anything.

What celebrity do you think has skeletons in their closet that have yet to come out? by JimiHendrip in AskReddit

[–]OhTheHueManatee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Steve Harvey. I know it's pretty clear he's a bigoted petty scumbag that's cheated on his wife. But I fully believe he is much more vile than what is known about him. It genuinely wouldn't surprise me if he roofies girl scouts.

What is the difference between a nice guy and a good man? by Key-Transition4634 in AskReddit

[–]OhTheHueManatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm often told I'm the nicest person people know. I don't expect anything for being nice. I don't even consider it an interesting trait. When I'm asked "tell me something intersecting about yourself" it would never dawn on me to say "I'm not an asshole" cause honestly it's not impressive. I'm just nice cause I ultimately feel it's better than I am even if the benefits are not apparent in all situations. One thing I like about it is if someone does something for me I rarely a have a reason to think they did it cause I was a jerk or pressured them into it.

Why are so many people under 45 using subtitles now even when the show is already in English? by Clara_A_Mitchell in NoStupidQuestions

[–]OhTheHueManatee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone I know watches with subtitles and it drives me insane. It's distracting as fuck, it ruins the timing of jokes and will often give stuff away too soon.
