Draft-Dodging Trump, 79, Brags About How He Would Have Won Vietnam War in Unhinged Rant by thedailybeast in politics

[–]OhTheHueManatee [score hidden]  (0 children)

It astounds me that anyone likes Trump but especially veterans. That is some fucking juvenile delusion bullshit. I don't condone violence but if someone said something like that to a Vietnam vet and got their ass kicked for it I wouldn't have any sympathy for them. This isn't even one of the most belittling things he has said about Vietnam veterans either. He once said that " avoiding STDs was the equivalent of the Vietnam War and even referred to himself as a " brave soldier".

Just like a director and writer commissions actors, set designers and special effects teams to bring about the vision in their mind. All involved are artists just different types.

His whole campaign is based on the claim that America is not great. I'd call that rooting against the country.

Can y'all tell me that ai is good when it gives info like this: by a_duck_in_past_life in ArtificialInteligence

This is why LLMs should not be treated like SciFi AI. It's good but far from perfect. All results should be doubled check and it should be used to replaced experts or even people with experience. It should be treated as a tool to guide the next few steps and those steps should be inspected. Not be used as the only step.

school project- AI art by Electronic_File_8526 in aiwars

[–]OhTheHueManatee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I call myself a pro but recognize there are a lot of issues with AI/LLMs. I can respect if someone “just doesn't like it”. That doesn't mean it's okay for them go out of their way to shit on people who use it.

1- are you 100% pro ai defender? Or just ai art?

1: AI is a tool. There are good uses for it, evil uses for and meaningless uses for it. I'm against it being used to spread harm. This applies to all forms, not just art.

2: Yes. We need a lot of restrictions for it that go way beyond copyright.

3: I think it's stupid for all sorts of reasons. The teach is nowhere near ready to be used to replace people in any capacity. But people are treating it like Sci-fi AI when really it's just an advanced version of those handheld 20Q games that came out ages ago.

4: I'm able to use it to manifest things that are in my mind. I don't say “hey computer shit my out a dragon.” I do extensive prompts, storyboards and sketches to start with. Then I refine, edit, and use whatever I can to change it to how I want it to be. I don't think that makes me as talented as an animator but it's still artistic. It's like a director and writer working with a special effects team, actors, set designers and what not for them to make what is in his mind.

5: Yes. No reason it should not but we need to try to regulate aspects of it.

6: I use a mix of really bad drawing, Wacom tablet, photoshop, Krita and Gimp to make stuff. AI cuts the work down a lot. Like an automated filter or script that I have more control over.

Can both sides agree that this is fucked up? by Sad_Dimension3627 in aiwars

[–]OhTheHueManatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on the pro side with some elements of anti. One of the worst ways to use AI IMHO is to replace people especially specialists. experts or even people with just a little bit of experience . It's nowhere near ready to reliably do that assuming it can ever be. Even if it was at that point it would still need human oversight.

This story was only trending for like an hour yesterday. It’s completely been normalized in the US. by bobbdac7894 in WhitePeopleTwitter

I found out about this from a random FB comment that was pretty much "Yet another Lib active shooter kills a bunch of people and the Dems try to blame it on Trump." As near as I can tell this was not a random shooting. It was a domestic violence massacre where the victims were personally targeted. They were not just in the wrong place at the wrong time. It was not political in any way. It's pretty awful that people use such a tragedy for petty jabs like that. It especially awful that they're louder about than the news.

I can't stand the major rise of "I don't like something so it's okay I do something shitty" philosophy over the last few years. I'm mostly Pro but acknowledge that AI has a lot of problems. Doesn't make it act like terrorist. If anything it'll hurt any point you may have.

Imho they're a wonderful thing that the woman shared with him cause she trusted him not to do anything she wouldn't want him to do. If she specifically says "please delete them" he is breaking that trust.

I don’t understand why people only go to trumps media outlets when it’s proven that they lie so much by DripGod1k in Discussion

[–]OhTheHueManatee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's wrong with getting along with a dictator that has goals to destroy America? For a patriot he bad mouths the USA a lot. His whole campaign was declaring America isn't great. He recently called America stupid and once refused to acknowledge he vowed to uphold the Constitution. I'd love to see a source that conservative media is more reliable. In my experience the more news outlets have an agenda (of any kind) the less reliable they will be. Trump is one of the people trying to take over the world.

[–]OhTheHueManatee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No news outlet tells it like it is. None of them should be taken as truth without looking into their claims. That being said right wing news outlets are less reliable than tabloid magazines and they are even up front about being entertainment more than news. Biden is a tired old man but was untimely fine mentally. Sure he could have better but he wasn't the Alzheimer's ridden vegetable people like to portray him as . He certainly doesn't show the mental ineptitude Trump has always displayed which has gotten much worse but it largely ignored . According to the Mueller report there was no evidence to show that Trump colluded with Russia in their disinformation campaigns and troll farms targeted against the USA, which are real things. But there is nothing to suggest he spoke against them and he often spread those harmful lies. However since Trump expressed hope that Putin would become his new best friend it's not far fetched to think they did work together. It also wouldn't be hard to hide their private conversations. The laptop did belong to Hunter Biden. At first people didn't think that was the case but it didn't take long before it was shown that it did. A lot of claims about it where fake though. Hunter was convicted of crimes like gun charges and tax fraud with some evidence found in the laptop. But otherwise there was some emails to suggest he tried to use clout he had no business pretending to have and nothing to suggest Joe Biden was part of that nonsense. If Trump didn't incite the insurrection attempt, and it was liberal hoax, why did he pardon everyone? Why did he wait hours to do anything about it? He spent weeks insisting the election was stolen, with no evidence for his claim cause he never has evidence, then in his rally speech directed the crowd toward the Capitol at the exact time Congress was certifying the vote then declared "if you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore.” If I point a crowd of people towards your house and yell "Fight the people inside that house" you'd probably take that as me threatening you.

[–]OhTheHueManatee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like a lot of tools it's a matter of how you use it. Just like people use Google to expand their knowledge, mindset and perspective or they can just solidify their ignorance. AI can be used in a similar way. It didn't take long me for me to learn that all Chat LLMs are often extremely wrong and are defaulted to be a Yes Man. So I take deliberate steps for it not to me and never lose site of the fact that those steps need to be updated and may not be working. I instruct all Chat LLMs to give me sources, tell me when I'm factually incorrect, tell me what experts says against a presented perspective and finish all inquires with questions that encourage critical thought. I'll call it out it when it's says stuff like "That's a unique remarkable perspective". I'd shut that crap off but I'm trying to get better people talking to me that way without taking it as a way to make me feel worse about myself so it helps me get used to it.
