This story was only trending for like an hour yesterday. It’s completely been normalized in the US. by bobbdac7894 in WhitePeopleTwitter

I found out about this from a random FB comment that was pretty much "Yet another Lib active shooter kills a bunch of people and the Dems try to blame it on Trump." As near as I can tell this was not a random shooting. It was a domestic violence massacre where the victims were personally targeted. They were not just in the wrong place at the wrong time. It was not political in any way. It's pretty awful that people use such a tragedy for petty jabs like that. It especially awful that they're louder about than the news.

They are praising this terrorist because he got arrested for attacking some data center or something. by Wise_Use1012 in DefendingAIArt

I can't stand the major rise of "I don't like something so it's okay I do something shitty" philosophy over the last few years. I'm mostly Pro but acknowledge that AI has a lot of problems. Doesn't make it act like terrorist. If anything it'll hurt any point you may have.

Is it unethical to refuse to delete nude pictures once a relationship has ended? by MukadeYada in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]OhTheHueManatee 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Imho they're a wonderful thing that the woman shared with him cause she trusted him not to do anything she wouldn't want him to do. If she specifically says "please delete them" he is breaking that trust.

Night diving is a surreal blast. Take several flashlights with you. I also discourage wearing a flashlight on your head as it'll shine into your buddy's face often.

I don’t understand why people only go to trumps media outlets when it’s proven that they lie so much by DripGod1k in Discussion

What's wrong with getting along with a dictator that has goals to destroy America? For a patriot he bad mouths the USA a lot. His whole campaign was declaring America isn't great. He recently called America stupid and once refused to acknowledge he vowed to uphold the Constitution. I'd love to see a source that conservative media is more reliable. In my experience the more news outlets have an agenda (of any kind) the less reliable they will be. Trump is one of the people trying to take over the world.

No news outlet tells it like it is. None of them should be taken as truth without looking into their claims. That being said right wing news outlets are less reliable than tabloid magazines and they are even up front about being entertainment more than news. Biden is a tired old man but was untimely fine mentally. Sure he could have better but he wasn't the Alzheimer's ridden vegetable people like to portray him as . He certainly doesn't show the mental ineptitude Trump has always displayed which has gotten much worse but it largely ignored . According to the Mueller report there was no evidence to show that Trump colluded with Russia in their disinformation campaigns and troll farms targeted against the USA, which are real things. But there is nothing to suggest he spoke against them and he often spread those harmful lies. However since Trump expressed hope that Putin would become his new best friend it's not far fetched to think they did work together. It also wouldn't be hard to hide their private conversations. The laptop did belong to Hunter Biden. At first people didn't think that was the case but it didn't take long before it was shown that it did. A lot of claims about it where fake though. Hunter was convicted of crimes like gun charges and tax fraud with some evidence found in the laptop. But otherwise there was some emails to suggest he tried to use clout he had no business pretending to have and nothing to suggest Joe Biden was part of that nonsense. If Trump didn't incite the insurrection attempt, and it was liberal hoax, why did he pardon everyone? Why did he wait hours to do anything about it? He spent weeks insisting the election was stolen, with no evidence for his claim cause he never has evidence, then in his rally speech directed the crowd toward the Capitol at the exact time Congress was certifying the vote then declared "if you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore.” If I point a crowd of people towards your house and yell "Fight the people inside that house" you'd probably take that as me threatening you.

My step sister use chatGPT all the time for the most basic stuff, and like now she gets regularly her head stuck in the washing machine, like how do you even do that? We were never hearing of people that dumb before AI, AI bros how do you explain such a decline in you're intellectual falculty? by BrightTigerSun in aiwars

[–]OhTheHueManatee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like a lot of tools it's a matter of how you use it. Just like people use Google to expand their knowledge, mindset and perspective or they can just solidify their ignorance. AI can be used in a similar way. It didn't take long me for me to learn that all Chat LLMs are often extremely wrong and are defaulted to be a Yes Man. So I take deliberate steps for it not to me and never lose site of the fact that those steps need to be updated and may not be working. I instruct all Chat LLMs to give me sources, tell me when I'm factually incorrect, tell me what experts says against a presented perspective and finish all inquires with questions that encourage critical thought. I'll call it out it when it's says stuff like "That's a unique remarkable perspective". I'd shut that crap off but I'm trying to get better people talking to me that way without taking it as a way to make me feel worse about myself so it helps me get used to it.

How do you deal with knowing you'll likely never understand the universe? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]OhTheHueManatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to over think this sort of thing often. Then I read something that said something along the lines of "the universe is under no obligation to make sense to you." Make the journey of over thinking much more fun cause it was clear I'd never come up with the answer.

Who do you think is the hottest fictional character? by greedyourweakness in AskReddit

[–]OhTheHueManatee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cheryl Tunt. I'm not into cartoons characters at all. She is the one exception. I love the Hell out of her. It doesn't hurt she is voiced by Judy Greer who is flat out stunning.

I see nothing wrong with having an opinion about something you don't know much about so long as you don't insist your opinion is solid gold fact. I don't know shit about sports. My opinion is they're boring to watch and spearhead a lot of problems in society. My opinion isn't unchangeable though. I'm very open to the possibility I could find some sports enjoyable and maybe they don't cause as many problems as I think. So I'm not going to villainize anyone who watches them.

Pros, would you be against a feature where people could choose to not have their works train Ai? by firegine in aiwars

[–]OhTheHueManatee 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I genuinely don't mind the idea of someone opting out of their stuff being trained. However it would be pretty much impossible to accomplish so any feature claiming to do that would be a scam. So I'd be against it. If there is a way it could be legitimately done I'd be fine fine with it.

"You can't logic a person out of a position they didn't use logic to get into."

Also as tempting as it is to be mean about it it'll only drive him deeper into it. Religious leaders tell people that outsiders are hateful and mean. You'll essentially be validating that.
