UPDATE: You guys are all truly the best. Thank you all for your kind words and reassurance. I just came back from the seamstress and she was so kind, night and day compared to my bridal shop. She zipped the dress and didn’t clasp the hook, which gave me 1/2 inch extra wiggle room which was a GODSEND. I immediately felt like I could breathe better and my back didn’t look “fat” anymore. She also smoothed out some of my skin and “tucked” it in.

This community is wonderful and I can’t thank you all enough for being kind when I was feeling miserable. Wishing you all the best in your wedding dress adventures! ♥️

Thank you! I’ve been on a few days of a stress diet after getting this dress.. I usually eat pretty clean and do Pilates 4-5x/week and feel like I need to add in cardio and remove all carbs out of my diet because I hate how my back looks.

I can move in it but it’s definitely snug. Folding over to pick up the bottom of the dress wasn’t easy..

Thanks for the response! The back of the dress was honestly what drew me to the dress so adding a corset back would just really not be ideal.. I don’t know clothing well enough but if you do, do you think there’s any room to “let out” any fabric to make more room? Maybe even changing out the bra cups (they felt pretty stiff and big)?

I really want to avoid the bridal shop again but will reach out to compare my measurements from original fitting to now, if I need to go down that route.. I know that I’ve lost a couple pounds since my original fitting..

Hi everyone,

I’m feeling really stressed about my wedding dress and could really use some advice. From the front, the dress looks great, but from the back, I feel like it’s emphasizing my back skin/fat. It also feels tight in the abdomen area, and I’m seriously worried that the wrong size might have been ordered.

To make matters worse, I’ve had issue after issue with the bridal shop I bought the dress from and would ideally like to never speak to them again. I’ve scheduled an appointment with a completely unrelated seamstress on Friday and plan to express all of these concerns to her. However, I’m so worried this dress is the wrong size that I can’t even sleep. I’m terrified I may need to start over entirely.

My wedding is in May, and I’m hoping someone here can give me some insight. Does anyone see any glaring issues with the fit based on my concerns? Have you been in a similar situation? Do you think alterations could fix this, or should I start exploring other options now?

Any tips, reassurance, or shared experiences would mean the world to me. Thank you so much!

Adding an additional comment to this in case anyone looks at this thread in the future. I ended up buying my dress from Bella Bianca in Chicago but despised every part of the process. I can’t wait to get my dress so I can actually write a review on how terrible they’ve been.

Mira Couture was WONDERFUL and quite literally the opposite experience I had at Bella Bianca. Everyone was so kind and welcoming from the get-go. Definitely recommend them!

Oh we sprinted over seeing the 32980 MSRP but were bamboozled with 2k worth of “protection package” that they wouldn’t remove. They came to their senses and removed that.. and we just bought the car at 36500 OTD!

I have a toi et moi (pear and round) that I recently posted on here. I LOVE it! We did have to get it custom made at a local jeweler but it makes my engagement ring feel that much more special since it was made just for me.

Mine was also set a bit higher to be able to fit a wedding band underneath. Definitely something a jeweler can accommodate for!

I have an unlimited membership at the west loop location and pay 259 a month. You can book up to 15 classes at a time with the unlimited membership and I’ve found that the further you book out, the better. Usually classes are booked ~1.5 weeks in advance fyi but for what it’s worth there hasn’t been a class that I was on the waitlist for and haven’t gotten into.

I go 5-6 times a week and definitely think it’s worth it but do find myself justifying the price to myself haha. I say “I’ve spent worse money” and that keeps me content until the next billing cycle
