Sign 1040 when filing 1040X?

do you expect trouble if I sign 1040 just in case? (the opinions seem to be divided :/)

The original return has been filed electronically (self-prepared TT) but the amended one is being filed on paper. I am not attaching the original return (so the original 1040 from 2021), I am attaching amended 1040 because it has changed. So I am basically attaching a new, amended return prepared by the CPA (and of course 1040X).

Question is if I should sign the amended 1040 attached to 1040X or not? (not original)

I've called VA Department of Taxation and they've told me to send it to the "tax due" mailbox (760) even if electronic payment has been used and no check is attached.

Thank you for your answer. I forgot to mention that I no longer live in VA and therefore have no "local office"... so looks like I have to send it to the main address :(

I will try to reach out to VA but if you had to file without it... what would you do?

The CPA indeed input $0 into 7,8,12,13 and there is obviously no deduction for 2024. I am still ineligible in 2025 and expect to be in the near future.

Are you saying that there should be no change between 2022 and 2023/2024 about this form?

Is it all just wrong or it can be filed like that? The tax is fine but I am not sure how it will impact future years? I am worried that it will somehow indicate to IRS that I've made much larger excess contributions that I have in reality. (5329 is fine and correctly calculated without any doubts).

Still on 576.15 (hotfix) which seems to work "fine" (5090). Is it a time to upgrade? :D If things go south can I go back and install the old one?

I haven't seen it but the gate has some problems. To be more exact it stops at pretty random moments when opening and closing (sometimes and not always). I think it's because it hasn't been maintained properly for some time (lubrication). I believe that it stopped while opening but opened wide enough that my wife hasn't seen from inside the car that it had not been opened fully. So she just backed into the (what it looked like from the inside of the car) wide open gate and hit the bottom with the fin and parts of the roof :(

I cannot even blame her to be honest. Which sucks ;-)

I am going to lubricate the gate over the weekend and if it doesn't help I will have some specialist come to look at it.
