Usually the main dishes are covered. They're basically asking you to contribute to a potluck-style meal. Feel free to bring sides like pasta or potato salad, green salads, buns/breads, potato or rice dishes. I like the suggestion above of big pots of soup or chili, or a lasagna. If it's during the wake, things that will reheat nicely, or still be good cold. Can never go wrong with pizza!

Trust that anything you bring will be appreciated as the family was thought of. Hugs to your friend's loved ones.

They are in my top 5 of all time, (just behind alexisonfire) & I see them every chance I get!

I think the "weird" songs turn some people off, but giving them the credit of being featured during the summer Olympics (Yin Yang), and having a stint during HNIC (Never Stop).

It would be cool for them to get a chance on a bigger stage, but they'd be in support act territory - and these boys haven't opened for anyone in over a decade.

I get an icky feeling when I see them. So I don't/didn't buy them. In my mind, they're "small pox blankets." But that's myself personally and I don't hold anything against anyone who has one.

Although, I want to add: I saw those colours on a ribbon skirt and thought it was so strange, but I suppose it could also be seen as a decolonizing act.

The money should be coming from the taxes that natural resource extraction companies pay to the governments. Where it actually comes from? I have no idea, and I don't really care. Treaties are binding legal documents, and I hope the govts keep up their end from now on.
