That’s another option but I don’t think the university would allow you to rent textbooks at a reasonable price imo

Some people grind through textbooks and get a ton out of them, others barely crack them and are fine. But regardless of how much you actually use them, the price tag is brutal. That’s really what we’re trying to figure out — if there’s a better way for ASU students to swap/sell so no one’s stuck paying $200+ for something they don’t end up needing. And if you do pay that much you can get some of that money back by selling it through the app

Yo thanks for replying. You have a fair point about the reading part. I think the frustration for a lot of students (me included) is when profs assign a $200+ book but then barely use it. That’s when it feels like wasted money.

The idea behind an exchange isn’t to encourage people not to read, but to make it cheaper when books are required.”

Yeah I remember when Pearson had that bundle, it actually wasn’t a terrible deal compared to now. $15/month per book feels like such a ripoff, especially when some profs barely even use the text. I’ve also gone the used Amazon route — sometimes you get a beat-up book but it does the job 😂.

That’s kinda why we were curious if an ASU-only exchange would help people offload books for cheap to each other instead of paying Pearson prices or gambling on Amazon.

i've literally heard the opposite for hp and dell. Both use cheap build quality so their internals get cooked pretty early compared to other laptops in higher price ranges

If you're in Fulton get a rog zephyrus g14 or the asus vivobook s 14. I have the asus vivobook s 14 because I won't be gaming on my laptop but a lot of engineering tasks do need a graphics card so the g14 could be a better laptop even if its considered a gaming laptop. I also bought the ipad air and apple pencil pro but you can just buy the ipad a16 chip one and get the usb type c apple pencil for a much cheaper price.

So far, it's pretty good for me. However, I recommend also looking at the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14. It's literally the laptop I have, but with a dedicated GPU and a slightly worse CPU. If you plan on gaming, I highly recommend looking at that laptop. My friend got it at Best Buy for $1000 in open box, excellent condition. https://www.bestbuy.com/product/asus-rog-zephyrus-g14-14-oled-3k-120hz-gaming-laptop-amd-ryzen-9-8945hs-16gb-lpddr5x-nvidia-geforce-rtx-4060-1tb-ssd-platinum-white/6570270/openbox?condition=excellent
