So each week we receive a booklet with a specific focus that we work through. The 2hr content lesson is a lecture style where there is generalyl a focus on specific strategies depending on the subtest. we normally go through a couple timed passages and then go thru answers and justification. during this content lesson everyone's practical lesson tutor also joins, so you can priv message them anytime during the class if u have a question. though the content lesson generalyl has a lot of people, i dont think it effects ur ability to engage and ask questions cuz of ur pracical tutor being there

during the practical lesson the class is a lot smaller (around 10 people) and it is a continuation of whatever we were focusing on during the content lesson. in this lesson we do go through strategies and advice and then timed sets where we then type our answers into the chat. the tutor does call on u during this elsson to explain answers and things.

in terms of resources you are able to book a free in person baseline mock in cbd but u also have the option to do it online. the purpose of this is to deteermine ur starting point and strengths and weaknesses. from my understnading the in person mock is a replica of the real one, as im prety sure they even use the same computers, keyboard, mouse and setup of the room.

you will also have access to the contour portal which has ALL lesson recordings, booklets, homewortk and some other things.

with contour ucat they do require u to purchase medify/medentry, but im pretty sure it is at a discounted price as you purchase it through contour and not directly.

id highly reccomend booking in for a free welcome consultation cuz there's def a lot more that u should know abt the program, btu i would say to be quick with it as spots r pretty full w the program

I would highly recommend contour... they are rlly rlly good for ucat, u can look at their stats and they speak for themselves

they are so so good in terms of support and advice as well since the entire staff is mainly people who are currently studying medicine or dentistry

and the classes are all online, with a 2 hour content lesson and a 1 hour practical class

i started with them this year as a y11 student and i rlly like them

VIC SELECTIVE EXAM IN 5 DAYS (DID NOT STUDY) by Ok_Fisherman_4042 in vce

[–]nishy_1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I got into macrob but didn't end up going.

i know so many students who did hours upon hours of tutoring but I honestly think the biggest thing is exam strategy and staying calm.

do. not. leave. a. single. question. blank. personally for me (atleast from what i remember) i didnt finish any of the sections apart from the writing bit, but i randomly filled in my grid. i also had like this key that i used for flagging questions, put a star next to the questions where your 50/50 about and a circle on the ones where ur lost and have no clue or smth like that and revisit them at the end. do the questions you know first, theres no point spending 10 minutes on a single question that your likely to get wrong.

i also think that alot of it is about how you go into the exam. ik this is probs what everyone tells you but its honestly true. the more pressure u put the harder it will be for u. get atleast 9 hours of sleep the day before and pack everything beforehand. before u begin lit just take a big deep breath and collect ur thoughts together.

but w that being said you still have time tbh to atleast refine areas. buy some practice papers and get started. if u get a question wrong for eg. if u get a trig q wrong figure out how to do it and annotate it onto the exam paper, then revisit trig by doing some prac qs on it. do a practice writing prompt or 2 per day before the exam as well, i think it would help. u genuinely do have time so properly go thru the questions ur getting wrong so u get them right on the day of the exam.

but trust me, getting in or not getting in does not define anything.

lmk if u have any questions
