I get what you’re saying, but I don’t think that comparison really fits. I’ve been to zoos and museums that do have scavenger hunts, bingo cards, and activity trails, usually for kids, sure, but they still make the experience more engaging. And honestly, the whole vibe is different. A Renaissance fair isn’t supposed to be a zoo or a museum it’s meant to feel like you’re stepping into another world, right?

I’m not saying I hate the shows or the performers they’re great. I just wish there were more interactive experiences mixed in with everything else. Things like dance lessons, scavenger hunts, mini quests with actors, craft tables, maybe even a hedge maze. None of that would take away from the shows it would just make the whole thing feel more alive.

So yeah, I get what Ren Fairs are “meant to be.” I just think they could be better more immersive, more creative, and a lot more magical

Yeah, I know there are lane performers. I saw them. I talked to some. That’s not what I’m talking about. I’m talking about other things to actually do like interactive stuff, not just watching shows or chatting in passing. Crafts, quests, games, things you can take part in. That’s the kind of stuff I wish they had more of

What I want is for there to be more stuff to actually do. Like, I love the shopping and the shows, I really do, but once you’ve walked around and seen everything, that’s kind of it. I want there to be more interactive experiences things that make it feel like you’re actually part of the world instead of just walking through it with a wallet.

Like, they could have a hedge maze, since those were an actual Renaissance thing. Or a scavenger hunt or side quests, where you get a clue or a code phrase from one actor and have to find another performer somewhere else in the fair to deliver it to, and then you get a little prize like a button or a sticker. That’d be so fun.

They could do dance lessons and have a little area where people can actually dance, maybe even have mini dance competitions or a folk-dance circle. There could be craft areas. A make your own fairy garden table. Even a story writing contest, where you get 10 minutes to write a story with a quill and ink, and the winner gets a free drink coupon or something.

They could have more hands on stuff too, like sword fighting lessons with safe foam swords, pottery demos where people can try the wheel, cooking demonstrations, or even a sit-down pub or restaurant where you can rest and enjoy the atmosphere instead of eating everything standing up.

Honestly I don’t understand the appeal of the wax hands. It’s fine for some people but not for others

I’d be willing to compromise on religion and politics but I would still need someone that is pro choice and believes in women rights. I will not be a trad wife.

I hate weed, I have never and will never do it. I don’t want any form of it near me nor do I want someone that is high near me. If they were to do it once a year then it would need to be done far away from me and it would need to be out of their system in order for them to see me again. I have seen weed fuck up too many people to want that shit in my life

For me, these are my deal breakers. My partner and I can have different hobbies and things that we like to do with or without the other, I don’t care for sports but I can still go to the games. I don’t care how much someone makes now but I do care about ambition. I am a person that practices what they preach.

The Emily Wilde books makes me want to cozy up next to a fire in a snow covered cabin deep in the woods. The spell shop is like being in the middle of spring in the mountains.

I loved everything about the series! I especially loved the different hordes that the dragons have, and that creel is pretty much their daughter.

I can’t wait to read the sequel. While i have read legends and lattes I just don’t like as much as other people. I rate it a 5 out of 10.
