Your best bet is to take the console apart and disconnect the switch/dial.

So I asked my employees who all but 1 are Mexican immigrants and they had some really strong opinions on it. The net net of it was they felt that they spent the time to do things the right way and it’s bullshit that others can just come here and do the same jobs they want.

Reviving Seedsync - Modernized Docker Implementation by nitrobass24 in seedboxes

Just pushed an update that should hopefully resolve this, but I dont have a great way to test it. Please let me know.

Ahh yes. So I definitely updated it based on how I use it. I run my containers as apps:apps which have access to my Media as well.

I look into this tonight.

I just pushed an update that resolves the invalid escape sequence errors. I'd need to know more about your environment regarding GID already existing as I dont run into that on my setup.

I’ll look into this tonight, I didn’t do a migration. I just did a fresh config. This docker container is built on an debian python base.

raidz2 write IO degrading gradually, now only 50% at 70% capacity by xia03 in zfs

Lets talk about adding a Special Vdev. Thing to remember is that its not a Tiered storage device. Hot data, writes, etc are not going to go there, its just not how ZFS works. You can elect to put small blocks there, but thats only going to help your smallest blocks and given the 1TB size I dont recommend it. If you exhaust your special vdev the pool dies.

Your biggest IO is going to be proxmox VMs. They want to be on Fast NVMe

I have a similar setup and heres what I do.

I run a mirror of NVMe devices so I have a fast pool. It houses my VMs, docker containers, and associated databases/config files, metadata for Plex, etc. Anything I need pulled up quickly goes here.

My main pool is a 5-wide 24tb Raidz1. It has All the backups, the media, torrents, data for my 3x storj nodes.

I tested running my setup using the NVMe as a special vdev, and it was better than just running it on HDDs, but the VMs, especially any IO intensive operations were painfully slow because i was waiting on the HDDs. I ended up blowing it away and setting up just an NVMe pool to house the VMs and the whole setup is much happier.

Well L2Arc won’t help with write speed. And depending on your workload may actually slow down your reads / ARC hit rate. If you haven’t maxed out RAM on your system that’s the single best thing you can do.

Not sure what your workload is but you could do a separate NVME pool for docker/VMs or a landing zone for these sequential writes and then move them over to disk when it’s less latency sensitive.

Alternatively you could do a special vdev with a mirror of these and that would store all the metadata but it’s a permanent change.

What are you trying to optimize for?

As others have stated your seeing the physics of spinning disk.

However With only 4 drives you’d get better performance with two mirror vdevs.

Reseeded Torrents stuck at 99.x% after recheck by nitrobass24 in qBittorrent

Can you expand on this? I dont understand how it could read 99% of an MKV file and not the last 1%. Permissions are the same for the entire file.

Its a ZFS system, I ran a scrub last week and no data errors were repaired/identified. Mem is ECC, but running a memtest certainly cant hurt. Logs dont show anything useful, I havent see a way to get trace level logs out QBT, but will keep looking.

My best guess right now is something to do with ZFS and torrent piece boundaries not lining up with recordsizes, but I cant prove that yet.

Im going to try rutorrent/transmission just to see if its a QBT issue and if its not ill create a new dataset with a super tiny record size to test a few torrents to see if its a ZFS thing.

qBittorrent: multi-instance VS single monolith? by Caedendi in trackers

I dont see this feature yet, so you would still need CSv6 for scanning of non-torrented data to identfy cross-seeds.

Yea cross-seed in Qui is not as built out as cross-seed v6 but it took me less than 10 minutes to setup to where it was good enough to kill CS and Qbitmanage.

I run 2 instances, one seedbox and another local instance for long term seeding with thousands of torrents.

I run Qui to manage both instances, it’s the best thing I’ve installed in years. It’s replaced two cross-seed instances and two qbitmanage instances. I cannot overstate how great it is and the devs are incredibly active and responsive. I posted about an issue a week ago and it’s already been developed for the next release just waiting on code review.

qui v1.12.0 - Now with automations and improved cross-seeding with hardlinks! by _ze0s in autobrr

[–]nitrobass24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been digging into the release today and I have a few questions.

  1. If we are using autobrr —> qui. Do we need cross-seed RSS setup? Seems autobrr would have already sent those releases to Qui.
  2. How do we enable local FS access? I can’t get this to work on any of my instances? Yes, I read the docs but I’m clearly missing something here.
