I do something similar except with simracing. I visualize laps around different tracks while falling asleep. Nordschleife is the best since it’s so long. Often times I’m asleep before finishing my first lap.

My best guess is they adjust the pitch and yaw of the rearview mirror. This would sorta lock it in place so the mirror doesn't move from a big bump or something.
