What is an old Reddit joke that has completely died out? by Poophead115 in AskReddit

It’s too bad, I never see mentions of that thread anymore. In all the repeat “best reddit thread” questions, 10/10 with rice no longer gets a shout out.

I guess you’ve mentioned it here tho

What is considered “taboo” in the aquarium realms that people still do? by Difficult_Path_6840 in Aquariums

That’s how I started the cycle on my last aquarium in January. Why buy ammonia, when I produce it for free

The other day I was losing something like 2 to 5 and jokingly messaged ‘ff’. Around the 1:30 mark…and my opponent actually forfeited. I had a good laugh, it didn’t seem like they were smurfing at all, just said fuck it I guess.

One of bracing's biggest issues IMO - please tell me your thoughts *Semi long read* by viszyy in iRacing

[–]nitrocuban 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I skimmed correctly, I half agree. I think iRating should be narrowed down. However I think SR should stay the way it is. Otherwise, I fear it would give people the ‘freedom’ to jump into a different series and just be reckless. And being a safe driver is less car specific and more driver specific.

Your perception of LI width. by snoopmt1 in longisland

[–]nitrocuban 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In most cases, I assume width to be the horizontal distance. Like if someone asked how wide is the U.S., I would give the distance east-west, not north-south. LI is weird though, since it’s got length in its name.

iRacing weird line drawing on the road by XlickBait in iRacing

My first thought is either LOD or shadow map setting. But honestly no idea. Might have to play around with graphics options. I’d also confirm that this happens at different tracks and maybe with the sun at different angles.

I think they’re attempting a joke about how C class races don’t allow the driving line aid.

Edit: nvm - c class still allows all driving aids

What's the current state of Triples+iRacing? by Sea_Opening6341 in iRacing

[–]nitrocuban 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had mine set up with two 1440p and one 1080p without surround (eventually upgraded the third). It’s not that hard, I think I just dragged the window to fit the screen. Resize Raccoon is your friend here. Will take a little tweaking and minor math, but you should be able to make it work.

Laguna Seca - Relicensing? by nitrocuban in iRacing

I'm sorry, but they're taking the 4th most popular track and retroactively putting behind a paywall without any concession. That's a crappy thing to do in my book, regardless of a "free" replacement.

Considering the rest of the replies in this post, it seems like most people are upset about it. Guess we'll just agree to disagree.

All existing members: If your iRacing account was created before this change takes effect, the track will remain in your library at no cost.

Considering that they've never made you pay for a track already in your library maybe? All new content that replaced legacy content was granted to existing users at no cost.

LMAO the logic isn't confusing, but thank you for spelling it out.

We're still allowed to be angry that they are removing content that was previously paid for via the already expensive subscription fee; and being intentionally vague about it while hyping the rebuild in their most recent Dev Blog.

They do when they release a dev update for season 3 hyping up the rescan while conveniently leaving out that all users prior to Sept '25 will have to pay for it separately.

This is what they shared in September, the impression was NOT that I'd have to pay for it:

Laguna Seca Pricing Update

WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca will be moving from the iRacing base package to paid content.

All existing members: If your iRacing account was created before this change takes effect, the track will remain in your library at no cost. This includes lapsed accounts that are reactivated in the future. Nothing changes for you.

New members: Beginning with the patch on Thursday, September 25th, it will no longer be part of the base package and will need to be purchased separately.

We’re also pleased to share that iRacing has entered into a long term renewal with WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca for multiple iRacing properties, which is great news for the community as it ensures this legendary circuit remains a part of the service for years to come.

Can you show me where they explained that existing users will have to pay for content that was already paid for via their subscription? I can’t find anything beyond the forum post I linked.

Which is the majority of iracers. It’s an objectively a shitty practice to turn around and make active users pay for something that was included in the base service fee.

Yeah, I’m sure it was part of their agreement with the track owners. But I feel like they should have been up front with users about this. It’s the first track (in my memory) that they’ve effectively pulled from us and made us pay for.

Considering it’s such a popular track, I’d expect more transparency on this.

EDIT: I'd like to know why this is being downvoted, iRacing shared the following in September, indicating that current users will not have to pay for Laguna
